My wife's 2011 335is Coupe 6MT does the same thing. Upshifting/downshifting a DCT also will not deactivate cruise control.

Yes, rev matching works for comfort and sport, but not sport+. My impression is that not only does it rev match, it seems to momentarily retard timing after the clutch is re-engaged.

In iDrive: phone/manage devices
I saw I had an "apps" box, which I don't recall seeing before.
Anyway ticking the box makes using Spotify via my iPhone a quick useable experience rather than a slow often unusable one.

That if you're a dope like me and you drive off with your side mirrors folded down they automatically pop back out on their own. Was around 10 or 15 MPH I think.

That after a weekend in the new X3 M40i the M3's interior looks pretty dated, the iDrive screen is tiny and the top down cameras suck.

I drove around in a M760i recently and while the gauges and other items are quite nice, my F80 still did not "feel" dated to me when I got back to it. While I yield the new displays are radically different and leaps ahead from a technological standpoint, I didn't feel the F80 gauges were dated, not just yet in my very biased opinion anyway. Now compared to the E90 I drove sometime ago, those gauges felt dated and are well on their way to feeling classic in a few more years.

Ha I kind of feel the opposite. I loved the E90 M3 gauges and sill think they look fine. They are analog/mechanical but well executed. The F80 on the other hand just looks kind of boring ans somewhat cheap to me, especially when you added that pic of the M760i.

Anything red dot-matrix is going to look dated at this point. F80 gauges look purposely timeless IMO.

I do agree about the iDrive screen - when I drive my X1 in comparison, it puts my old screen to shame.

I still like the analog gauges. I don't think I'll like the new counterclockwise tachometer gauges. Brain isn't used to seeing the tach sweep that way.

Getting the 10.2 screen is plug and play in the sense of no coding needed, you do have to cut a bit to get it to fit but that's it if it's enough to complain about

I learned that with cruise engaged at 30mph in town, when you steer round a sharp bend, the speed drops. Annoying. It can be prevented by a preemptive dab of throttle. But really, cruise shouldn't need that.

When I picked the car up I asked if the mirrors could be folded with comfort opening. Sales guy said no.
Actually, if you hold your finger on the ribbed area for a few seconds - it does fold mirrors.

When I picked the car up I asked whether a wired iPod could be voice controlled. He said no. Actually it can. Happy days.

There's no sense getting wrong answers from the sales guys when you can ask the real Geniuses right here on Bimmerpost!

btw, the folding mirror thing is market specific. It doesn't work that way in North America. Also, you may try pushing the lock button on your key fob for a couple of seconds. That may also fold the mirrors for you.

Even the pre-LCI non-LED tail lights have a fog light module. I have them activated on my car.

It is also possible to have the front cornering lights coded as fog lights.

That's why they call it "Dynamic" cruise control. It adjust the speed based on cornering to "maintain comfort" and will also apply the brakes to maintain the set speed when going downhill. This is true at all speeds, not only "in town". I agree, I also find annoying.

Quote:
Dynamic cruise control is an electronic cruise control system with an extra braking function. This also includes the Curve Speed Limiter that reduces the speed in curves for comfortable lateral acceleration. At the end of the curve the car accelerates and resumes the original speed.

When you're on the move, mashing the loud pedal and holding the left paddle at the same time automatically shifts the M4 into hyperspace mode! The car drops down into the right gear to match your speed/rev's and absolutly launches you forward.

I've read about it once or twice, but never tried it until last night when a rather tasty looking Tang decided to have a play. I think it suprised both of us in all honesty!
