Getting used to this car and turning into Madmax
So after owning the car for almost 6 months, I am feeling a lot more comfortable with the whole experience. Truly fantastic car with far more ability than my capability.
The somewhat downside is that the correlative familiarity to the car is translating in higher speeds. Everywhere! I have a very hard time driving slowly. I found it a lot easier to control my ''need for speed' with other cars, but not anymore. Wife in the car, who cares, coworkers, forget about it! One of my coworkers rolled from one side of the back seat to the other when I took a sharp corner a couple of weeks ago and swore she would never get in the car with me again! (Should have worn a seatbelt!) I'm generally a nice and considerate guy but that shit goes flying out the window when I get behind the seat of my M! Anyway.. just had to share... On a different note I bought a fantastic power washer that has soap attachment which lathers the car up and does a wonderful job cleaning rims too..below is a pic of the M getting spa treatment.. |

Yup. I have the same issue. Love my M. It's my first one and I can never go back to a "regular" BMW. Granted I had speeding issues before but it's worse now. The wifey get nauseous sometimes when I'm getting on it and taking turns at a high rate of speed.

I dial it back when people are in the car, my MIL would soil herself if I really pushed it with her in the car.
But, when I am alone I push it a bit. The problem is the car is so effortless and capable other people on the road probably think I am driving like a douche but they don't realize the difference between what they are driving and this beast are two totally different things and I'm just naturally going faster without even trying to go fast. I can only imagine what a Turbo S 911 must feel like! |

Wow, that's awesome!!!!!
Maybe....just maybe OP, it might be a good idea to have one of your friends with a YouTube Channel follow you around. Just make sure when you have an interaction with an immoveable object or hurt one of your passengers to come up with a better excuse than "My tire pressures were off on one side or it was the responsibility of MY passenger to be prepared that I would act like a squirrel".

It's a big problem. I tell myself all the time.... "self, we're going to take it easy this trip out". That lasts about 5 minutes and I find myself doubling the speed limit. The car is SO fast and SO planted.
I go easy with passengers, but I love purring along at 3500 rpm in 2nd or 3rd with the traction control off and getting in it hard to redline. Better yet, inducing a controlled drift on a nice dry road will always get a rise out of a passenger. Waze works wonders for cop control. I live by it |
