Just ordered a big bottle to use on the wife's car and mine.
Hoping to try it out once i get a chance. Might put down a hand layer of something first and use this as the final step.

Phil,

Since you say it's a cross between a detail spray and a coating, can it actually be used as a detail spray on a lightly dusted car? Or does the car have to be clean to use it (I know it can be wet or dry)?

Can this be layered with Zaino as well? I use PNS on the M3, but I still use Zaino on the M5 and Z4M coupe. If I like this product, I would like to use it on these cars as well, but only if a coat of Zaino can still be put on top if I desire.

Thanks!

love it been using this over anything else in the shop right now.

So our go to's for

Silica Based products in the shop (before we would coat a car)

HydroSilex Recharge
Fictech Car Gliss
Nanolex SiFinish

yes you can use it for light dust, but honestly I with my ocd's I rather just do the full wash. you can use it and layer it if you like. we have seen no build up issues as of yet.

Do you think this can be used on a vinyl wrap? I am getting my car wrapped in a few weeks and looking for some additional protectant.

I did Kamikaze ceramic coating on my car when it was brand new and the one year results have been kinda crappy if I am being honest. Looking for something a little easier for the wrap and this looks great.

Are you using all of those in combination on the same car?

Hi Phil:

I've used Zaino in the past and for the last 8-10 yrs or so have been totally Meguiar's products. Ultimate always. Wash, wax (liquid) and every now and then the quick detail. Microfiber always too.

Never used any of the many ceramic coatings out there. My thoughts are to do the first coat of Hydrosilex dry, then once a month or so, wet for maintenance.

Questions:

1. Any need to strip my current wax before the first Hydro app?

2. Would I need to do anything to the surface before going back to Meguiar's if I wasn't happy with the Hydrosilex?

I also share your viewpoint that the best first coat should be put on dry.

Yes you can use it as a detail spray, that being said I would also take caution when using it like that,
any type of detail spray

Yes you can use it over the product but I think it's best used over a coating or by itself.

Thanks!

Any other firsthand experience to share?
It really doesn't streak?

I've been using Reload on my non-coated Tanzanite Blue M3 (was waiting until after winter to coat?if at all) but I sometimes notice streaks w/Reload.

It really doesn't streak! I used it on my mineral gray car and it leaves a great shine and super slick too. I don't know about durability as it has not been long since I used it.

Thanks. I may give a try, but some folks over on autopia are noting it doesn't have same beading effect as Reload.

I may just slightly dilute Reload and see if that helps with the streaking
