Yes ConnectedDrive.
Pretty easy to do. Sign up for an account and pair to your phone thru idrive menus

Probably best to search or start a new thread so we can stop cluttering up this one

We had a 330ci stolen back in the early 2000's. They did find the car 2-3 weeks later with a lot of parts missing. Hopefully insurance covers the loss and you get yourself into a new one. Good Luck and hope if all works out.

The OEM alarm came with motion sensor surprised it did not go off.

Unreal, i guess ebay will have a ton of M3 parts coming up.

That's sickening, people suck entirely

OP,
Hope you have a good insurance adjuster and company, but best to do your research and find some comparable vehicles to support whatever you feel the car is actually worth. Insurance companies rarely give you their best offer first.

Regardless of how nice or good, job number one is to pay you the least amount they can to settle the claim.

Under the main menu "Settings" in your iDrive, the very bottom option should be "GPS Tracking".

Make sure that option selected.

Then in the app select vehicle location and the little satellite icon I think.

No kidding? Mine's a fairly early MY2015 build, 07/14, must've been earlier than that then.

Sorry to hear that OP. I know first hand what it feels like, like you said not mad, just intruded upon and violated.

Good luck getting your car back and I hope they catch and charge the POS that stole it!

If you read the whole thread, part of the module in our cars has a battery backup that is independent of the car battery. So if the disable the cars battery, then the modules backup battery would continue to allow BMW to track.

It's so easy to bypass this, it's not even funny. I'd post up how but I'm not going to give anyone ideas... but we're talking less than 30 seconds.

Nobody is saying if it's difficult or hard to bypass it, just replying to your comment about "just disabling the battery".

The scary part is no need to disconnect the battery, they can placed an anti shielded matt on the dash board and will block all incoming signals. Can't ping the car you can trace it.
