What do you think of this CPO M4?
Hey everyone, new to the forum, been a long time fan of the M4!
Cant justify buying a new one due to the depreciation on german vehicles. But i was wondering if you guys can chime in and give me some advice on this CPO M4. Only thing i'm iffy about is the rims, which i might just change. https://www.autonation.com/Cars/WBS3R9C51GK336682 New car warranty expires 3/16/20 or 50k miles, CPO expires = 3/16/21. Maintenance plan = 3/16/20 or 50k miles. This will require a refresh fee to be paid in order to reinstate the maintenance plan. BMW implemented this policy about one to one and a half years ago, it applies to all vehicles produced after July 2015. I understand autonation is usually the most reasonable but what do you guys think about the price/condition of the car? Any help is appreciatied! |

Car originally came with 437m black wheels but I wouldn't complain. 666m are a come up assuming they're OEM BMW wheels. History is clean, all oil changes have been done on time. 1200 mile service was a bit late. Performed at 1,827 miles but not a deal breaker id say.
Price seems very fair for a 79,645 MSRP car |

Seems reasonable. For reference, I bought my 15' CPO with < 10k miles for $56k last Sept and it's the exact same options (fully loaded). I was trading a car in, so I managed to get $2k more out of my trade in from the dealer vs CarMax (which CarMax usually gives pretty decent trades). If I shifted that 2k to the savings on the M4, then the one I got is ~$54k. I think that price for the one you linked, which is 1 yr newer, is pretty fair.
Do you drive a lot? The maintenance plan will most likely be used on oil changes. Brake pads on these cars last a long time for normal driving, unless you track. If you don't drive much, you'll be doing oil changes annually. If you drive a lot, then you do them every 4-6k to be safe. I think the maintenance plan only allows you 1 oil change every 8-9k miles anyways. You'd be paying for your own oil changes every other time. If you feel the cost of the refresh doesn't outweigh the oil changes, it's probably better not getting it. Sucks they changed that benefit not too long ago, but it is what it is.

It will mostly be a weekend car. but still around 10k miles in the year tho. Since theyre going to stop producting F80 M3's in March does that mean that the used M4's will also have a drastic price decrease? |

Double check it is actually CPO. The Autonation BMW dealership here was advertising used M's as CPO on Autotrader and their website. When inquired upon, they did a role reversal and said it isn't CPO, and that they don't CPO M cars and that the warranty they were referring to was the "Autonation warranty."

This car is at BMW Encinitas, which is an Autonation Dealership.
https://www.bmwencinitas.com/certifi...b5c6cc7216.htm You gotta look at the car in person to really judge the condition. You can't do that from photos alone. |

That being said, I've never heard they are usually most reasonable as referenced by OP.

I'm a Client Advisor at a different AutoNation BMW dealer and on our internal vehicle locator it lists it as BMW CPO. The best way to check is to actually call and talk to a Client Advisor there to be sure.

Have you got any offers from Dealerships for 2018's around the 73k Price for 10K off or around $63k. If you can get a new 2018 for within 6-7k I think its worth buying new.
Good luck. You just never know the history of a car not matter how good it looks. Good luck. |
