Remus rear with AA midpipe review

I have noticed that a lot of people have been interested in how the AA midpipe affects the sound with the stock rear section. I got it installed about a month ago and was fairly happy with the result - the car became about 30% louder, a lot of rasp was cleared out and the exhaust just got deeper all over. However, after a few weeks I decided to do the rear section, as the muffler was still neutering the sound quite a bit - everything sounded good, but kind of lacked texture and character in my opinion.

So, instead of opting for AA rear, I decided to go with Remus, which is a slightly louder option and I do like experimenting. Plus I got a bargain of ebay (although one of my valves is not working as it was slightly managed in transit, but I am not bothered).

Under load the exhaust got just a tad louder compared to stock, maybe 5-8%. When driving in efficient it sounds oem, but when you step on it in sport/sport plus, you can tell that something has changed. The car is louder and screamier under WOT and the nature of the sound clearly changed and got sportier and more aggressive.

The biggest changes are noticeable when driving at lower speeds and in low gears. My non ZCP car clearly got a bit more burble when letting off the gas in first and second. The sound is very deep and pleasant, without being obnoxious.

As Ive said, only one valve is functioning and the other one is constantly open - got a good bargain and would not want to return it. I have driven the stock rear with AA midpipe with open valves and Remus is noticeably better to my ears.

Cold start is similar to just stock rear and AA midpipe, even with open valves (video below) it is not much louder than just with the AA midpipe, but once again, the nature of the sound is different - deeper and meatier" with Remus rear. Imo now cold start is much more refined. Overall I am very happy. Unfortunately, my car is at the dealer for rattles and I don't have a go pro to do a drive by video.

What made the experience even better was that right after install I had to stop for fuel and one of the guys at the station said that my car sounds like an AMG

The video (both valves open) does not do it any justice.

I have only had the car briefly, unfortunately its at the dealers at the moment.

Not sure any of those exhausts sound good while being revved not in gear though.

I think the first time we cut the AA a bit too short (I was planning it to be my only exhaust mod!). Hence we needed to weld an extra piece of pipe at the end of the Remus. But this was very easy. I will post some more pictures in due course.

Guys, some revs for you. Doesn't do it any justice, it sounds great in purpose.

It was not a rattle to be honest. was a clicking sound coming from the drivers seat. I dont know, they told me that they had to readjust something and now its perfect. Dropped off the car and the next day it was ready.

Thanks! Honestly, these things never sound good in N, but I had a friend who drives a w205 c63 amg with me (he was filming). He was blown away by the sound - he was expecting it to be bloody awful

I will try to shoot some drive by videos. The burbling is really cool as well (the car is not tuned).

Ha ha, I will do this Saturday/Sunday. Unfortunately I have been away. During the weekend my girlfriend and I are going to the countryside and there will be some empty roads in the middle of nowhere, where we can shoot some drive by videos.

Indeed. But to be absolutely honest, the back box made a hell of a difference as well. The sound just wasn't complete without it. I know that Eisenmann rear with AA sounds good too
