How many Individual Laguna Seca Blue M3?

I have a 2017 LSB M3. How can I find out how many 2017 M3s are this color?

I have an Atlantis Metallic and I'd be curious about that too. Any way to know how many of each individual color has been made?

I'm trying one possible avenue. I will report back if I have any luck.

What would be interesting to know is how many F8x have an individual paint, period. My guess based on absolutely zero knowledge on the topic what so ever would be 1-25.

From what ever small % of F8x have individual paint id assume LSB would land somewhere in the 2-5% of all individually painted cars. Again, this is based on knowing absolutely nothing on the topic.

Knowing there are apx 68,000 F8x made so far, and (by my math) apx 5% of which are individually painted that means about 3,400 F8x cars are part of the family of ones with individual paint.

I now take that number and apply my non scientific complete BS guess of 2-5% of them being painted in LSB and come to a number of 68-170 exist in LSB.

Anyone have a better guess?

Send an e-mail to individual@bmw.de and ask them. They will tell you. At least they used to. I did this a while back and found out that my Santorini Blue M3 on order will be one of 4 F80's produced in that color, one of 3 with a manual, and the only one delivered to the west coast.

Thanks, just sent an email asking. I'm guessing that Sassicaia's number of 1 in 20 cars being individual is way high, I think it's a lot less than that.

1 in 25 would be 4% which is 2720
1 in 20 would be 5% which is 3400 (as you said)

However, I suspect the actual number is closer to 2%. The wild card is the colors offered as Priority 1 at a reduced rate (at least in the US and Canada - maybe not everywhere). Technically those are Individual too, and might add another percentage point.

Recently, production numbers for the pre-LCI M2 were published by forum member SickFinga. This included a breakdown by color, region, and transmission type. Perhaps he has access to the same for the M3/M4. Unfortunately, the M3 LCI was over a year ago, so that info would be somewhat out of date. Still, it would be great to see some data.

Failing that, once production of a model is complete, BMW will typically release this information. While that is only about a year away for the M3, the M4 coupe will be with us into mid 2020 and the convertible to late 2020.

Not sure if this helps, but I've got a 2016 M3 ZCP in Laguna Seca Blue. Prior to that I had a 2016 non-ZCP with the same exact build and color. Both of them 6MT.

Don't think there are any other fully optioned, 2016 M3 ZCP's in Laguna Seca. At least not with a 6MT.

A friend of mine bought a used Laguna Seca M3 with 6MT. Not sure what year it is but it could be a 2016.

I just realized that it's not a ZCP.

I do not compile data on cars that are still in production. Therefore I only got data on the pre-LCI F8x.
From my experience, BMW has never released color breakdowns for any model. The only thing they release is the total production number.

As for the North American Individual color breakdown, the percentages are

1.7% for the 2015 M3
2.0% for the 2015-2017 M4 Coupe
1.4% for the 2015-2017 M4 Convertible

Right, that’s what I was referring to - pre-LCI numbers.

My mistake - I know I’ve seen a thread on BimmerPost that shows exactly how many of each color of E9x M3 was produced. I had assume the data was somehow sourced from BMW, but I probably made a poor assumption. The data is (or was) available from some source, though.

Thanks for that. Seems I wasn’t too far off. I suspect that the Individual Collection colors like Tanzanite and Azurite will top the list.

Figured that you were involved - been a long time since I had read or seen that thread.

If your friend is from AZ then he bought my friend's LSB from OC? It had the 18s?

No, he's from San Diego. I don't remember where he bought it from but I remember that it was going to be a road trip, so not OC. I offered to go with him, but he already had a ride lined up. The car he bought had two sets of wheels, the 19"s and some aftermarket 20"s I think.

Cool, have him post some pics! I have some LSB rear reflector deletes from IND that I never installed. I'll give him a good deal.

Thanks!
