I booked my M3CP in for a service today and mentioned airbag recall to the service adviser , they didn't know anything about it .... said it could be software upgrade only .... waiting for a call back to confirm ...
Interesting that a govt dept posts a recall and the dealership doesn't even know about it |

I bought my wife a new daily drive F30 series a month ago. We had the pickup date booked, but they cancelled the day before, as they just found out that day about the airbag recall, and that had to be fixed prior to delivery. They told us then her M4 would be affected as well. Funny thing is that when I put the M4 VIN into the search function for airbag recall on BMW's website it says that the car is affected, but has already been rectified?

Only affects old(er) cars, and cars in high humidity climates. 99% of us not a problem. My brother just got his wife out of a E71 into a F16 for the Takata issues - but wait there's more

Both of my cars went in for service (X5 & M3) at Brighton BMW , both had drivers side airbag modules replaced under recall. i think when i initially booked car in and they mentioned software update was a time buying exercise whilst they checked out the recall , as the link posted by "player " to the govt website mention's that the recall will be announced in July No doubt i will now get a notice on July 1 from BMW to say to take my car in |

Got my m3 serviced recently and they did replace the airbag under campaign. I can scan the documents if it helps any one.
