YMB vs Santorini Blue...and I rode in the new M3 yay!

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com

I was at North America HQ this weekend and I got to see, sit in, ride in the new M3...

1. It's awesome
2. Still can't wait
3. Now that I have seen YMB in person, I almost wish I got it.
4. Santorini Blue is gorgeous as well, and the same way that people can appreciate that color now, vs when it came out is the same way that you will love YMB.
5. The seats in the new M3 are awesome. Leather is super soft but the seats are crazy comfortable.
6. The shifter (6MT) feels great! Not super racer perfect, but it's comfortable and just right for this car.

Many thanks to Matt in NJ with the Santorini Blue M3 (E92) as he was ready willing and able to help me convince the intern to park the YMB M3 next to Matt's Santorini. We wanted to do this so you can have a real comparison of the colors in the exact same light.

You can see more pics on Matt's site: mfatuation.com
Special thanks to Martin the intern as well!

Can someone tell me how to put these pics up the rightside up? I don't know why it does this on my computer. I post them as attachments and they show up right side on my computer, but not in this forum.

I just realized that I don't like to see the E9X M3 next to the F8X. Anyway, very good side to side shots of the colors. Santorini is a nice color.

Both are amazing cars. I rode in Matt's E92 with the modded exhaust and it sounds awesome. The F80 doesn't sound like a super aggressive modded exhaust though, because it's not. However, it sounds great especially coming from a factory. Once people get in them, they will appreciate what the sound is and why it is.

By the way, this is a pre-production M3. These are the test mule all Black wheels which look awesome on this car. The two-tone wheels suck big time compared to all black. therefore, when you get your wheels, go to your local paint shop and get these redone in all black, whether matte or gloss, your choice.

Do the US cars have orange turn signals on the taillights or all red? I think I have seen both and am not sure what the US production ones will look like.

I'd love to get a ride in the new M3. How is this possible?

You drove it with the MT? That's great! So the shifts weren't too long and rubbery? I am getting the MT either way but would like to hear more detail on how people like it

You are aware they pipe in artificial engine noise, right? I actually asked if it can be turned off and was told no.

That and [start/stop], if cannot be turned off(though I think can be), will most likely annoy the crap out of me.

The North American cars are all red taillights.

STICK WITH THE SO/SO BRO

But I was sorely tempted by AY and YMB. Next car, when I can get Amaro Brown, perhaps. Unless I do Java Green just to get props in a post here...

Glad to hear the the MT is nice. Looking forward to getting back to it.

Stick with the SO/SO? Of course! My car is already built sitting in the Welt parking lot waiting on me! I get it in less than 2 weeks!

i like those wheels on your X3 in the signature! We have the Msport on ours as well and I like those wheels, but I haven't seen anyone put new wheels on an Msport. looks good! And it's in my favorite color...

Start stop can be turned off and stay off every time you get in the car. Models 2014 and later.

The active sound isn't bad or distracting at all.

I like YMB a lot, but I love Santorini. I'm not going to drop 5k on it, though, so my M3 will most likely end up YMB.
