Notice how they cut the video every time there was going to be a big downshift? You never hear any double gear downshifts. The cut to an acceleration part every time.

Sounds OK from a turbo, not the high-pitch scream that I prefer from an NA. Not sure why he lifted off at 1:08 though...

It sounds better than I would have expected!

Man, I love this track. It is such a blast! I cannot get enough of it!

I wish that we had something like this in the States! It's only 26€ per lap!

Ha, noticed that too.

Too bad everyone on the street doesn't get enhanced fake engine noise as well.
+100
And that is the issue with enhanced, active or artificial sound. Whatever you call it you'll be hearing the sounds of a hero engine on the inside and the girls and guys you drive by will be hearing the sound of something completely different. Let's not make driving a car like a video game, keep it real. I have my Xbox for fantasy time.
That small complaint aside I do think this new car is going to be a kick ass driving machine and I do want one.

I'd like the test car's seats as an option. And space helmet. And track suit with all kinds of buckles.

I agree it sounds better than I expected "in cabin." Seems like the true "endurance" testing will be when the ambient temp on the track 80-90deg F. Seems a bit cooler in the video.

a longer video would have been great but that was just enough to get a good flavor of the sounds. so far so good!

Alright Aryton Senna, I'm willing to bet that you couldn't drive 3/4s as good as what's done in that clip.
It was in the wet and endurance testing so I don't think the driver was pushing it, which means that there are likely other videos where the car is being pushed showing a better representation of the sound and performance. Not saying I could do better.

Sometimes it would be preferable that people dont hear your car's exhaust note...

We should wait for the final product to be fair. I hope BMW will let us order a "factory Akra" as an option.

What do you expect on a wet course, it's not an Audi after all.

Sounds nice, really just a teaser still. I actually prefer the exhaust clips.

That is obviously not active sound. The camera is clearly on the outside of the car.

Most of the noise sounds more like racket from other sources (..interior, camera mounting equipment, etc.) rather than stones/pebbles. It's not like he's driving on a dirt road.

Same thing happened early on when the M3 was getting more positive responses from pics of it in the "wild" than the M4. Then some random professional photographer just happened to find an AY M4 sitting on the street, took some pictures of it, and then posted them to the forum. Highly suspect.

I heard the M3 revving at Daytona yesterday from 5 feet away. It has an initial raspiness like an e46 but all in fell flat. Sounds nothing like the s65 obviously which is sad.
The M school guys said they enjoyed driving it more for 2 reasons. Weight and more torque.
Both are obvious reasons and these guys are paid to say that to me since they know me and my buying history.
The car is beautiful though and the interior is light years ahead of the E90.
