Anyone seen YMB in person?!

I ordered my F80 M3 last week in YMB with silver stone leather but am now getting cold feet and considering changing the colour!

The colour seems to look different in every pic depending on lighting conditions and without seeing it in person I don't know if I can risk it.

If anyone has seen it in person I would appreciate your comments and description. Anyone else considering YMB for their car?

i just have a hunch that it will look close to estoril blue for f30 m sports models. which i thought the cOlor was bit to feminine.. almost smurf blue ish.. but evidently ymb has more metalic to it.. i personally dont like the pics ive been seeing..

It is everything but close to EBII, just saw YMB in person yesterday and it is way too light to my liking. I was skeptical seeing some pics showing a somewhat darker blue but don't let these fool you. It is very light.

^^^This!

I'm starting to think some people are blind. There is nothing Estoril about Yas Marina.

I look at it this way:
If you are 25 or younger, get YMB.
If you are a woman, get YMB.
If you are gay (any age), get YMB.

If you don't match above criteria, pick a different color.

Best I can describe - it looks robin egg blue. Much lighter than most of the pictures. The show lights make it look better than it probably will look outdoors in daylight. A tad feminine for my personal taste - nothing at all like the blues in the Estoril range.

I think it would be even worst on the coupe. I also never thought I would say this but the sedan looks much better than the coupe. More in keeping with the feeling of current E92. Something just not right about the coupe. I hope it grows on me in other colours especially AW as my plan was to order the coupe.

If I were you I would surely see it first. You might love it - or you might regret it. I wouldn't depend on opinions from assholes like me. We all have different tastes.

There is a video floating around when a YMB is caught doing a 3 point turn on a road. It looks like that. (Do a YAS Marina Blue search - Google videos and you will see it)

Thanks for the response - I have seen the video shot from the motorbike and you are right, it does look a lot lighter than the other press release videos and pics. If you have seen YMB in person have confirmed that this is a true reflection of the colour then I am going to change my order........to what I don't know yet.

Don't want yellow or orange, black will hide the detail on the car and the carbon roof which only leaves silver stone , AW, or MW.

I saw YMB at the NAIAS and spent a lot of time looking at it, trying to figure out how I'd describe it. First of all, it changes depending on the light. Under the show lights, it went from robins's egg to periwinkle - depending on the light and the angle. Up close, the metallic paint is fabulous, with a nice shimmer wherever the sheet metal bends. From a distance, it gives the car a nice glow.

This color isn't close to Estoril, as far as I'm concerned. It's more like a lighter and metallic LSB with a little less green in it.
That's most of the time - You can also pick up the periwinkle look in some light.

Two shots of YMB from the NAIAS. The close up shows the metallic shimmer and the periwinkle tone a little more than the full shot. Almost hard to believe it's the same car - and these photos were taken less than a minute apart from the same camera.

I saw YMB in person and did not like it. It's more of a baby blue than anything else.

It's powder blue - period. If you're going to park the car in your baby boy's room, then it's perfect.

Some folks at other brands' stands at the Detroit show were actually making fun of it.

Thinking of MW with Sakhir interior now, definately can't risk this colour without seeing it first - which I have no chance of doing.

Shame as I really wanted am M exclusive colour this time around but the choices on launch are not great.

This promo shows YMB in its best possible light. Under the bright lights of the show, it's just plain powder blue.

I took this pic yesterday and to me, it is a very good representation of what the color actually looks like. It much more metallic then I thought it would be. It's very much like a pearl light blue..

To not offer EBII (or III) at launch is disappointing. Hopefully, when they expand the color palette, BMW will come to their senses.
