Dropped off my car in Munich a week ago and just found out I'm on the Tombarra, which is leaving Bremerhaven on the 20th and scheduled to get to Port Hueneme on July 15th! Looks like the car will be here quicker than I thought!

Yep. No VPC up here though. Get ready for the fun of tracking it across the ocean and through the canal. When mine was on the way (on the BESS, Go BESSy!!) our thread had folks who would sign up for the trial version of the ship tracking service so we could track it all the way across the ocean. I even watched it go through the canal and got webcam snaps of it.

I'll probably just check the thread on here as I'm sure other people who's cars are on the same ship will update it. All I really wanted to know is when the ship is scheduled to get to CA...and if it sinks I guess...

Sorry to be the pessimist but don't hold your breath too much. I dropped mine off at Munich on October 12th and didn't pick it up at the dealer until December 3rd. That is almost 2 full months.

How long did it take for the car to get to the dealer from port? The ship is scheduled to arrive at port on 7/15. So I'm hoping they can get it through customs,VDC and on a truck in a couple weeks.

The BESS arrived at Hueneme on November 10th. My car was not released to the carrier until November 25th. Customs is a biatch for ED cars.

Who knows, the Thanksgiving holiday was included in my processing so it might happen faster than mine. Just be prepared for a wait.

At least you have a good car to drive while you wait. I sold my 335 before I went to Germany so I was rolling in a '01 Civic Hybrid and then a '98 Subaru Impreza.

True but that may not last too much longer. As soon as I get around to taking some pictures of the 335, it'll be up on CL.

That was my original guess, 8-10 weeks puts us right in the middle of August. I'll be in Rio for the first couple weeks of August so my pick up might have to wait a bit. Yeah yeah, first world problems....

My F80 is on Tombarra too. Not ED just regular delivery to my Chicagoland dealer. ETA Baltimore July 3rd...

uhh...I think the Tombarra is going to the West Coast via the Panama Canal. Is it stopping in Baltimore first? If it is then the West Coast peeps can expect an even longer wait. My dates above for the BESS assumed a direct route from Bremerhaven > Southhampton > Panama Canal > Hueneme.

Yes it is.
Per marinetraffic.com it will get to its first stop at 2100 Zulu today (Zeebruge), then on to the UK then Baltimore then Panama then SoCal then NorCal.
