No drone even with valves wide open all the time. But, each person has their own definition of drone. I like exhausts on the louder side and it is noticeable pretty much all the time when valves are left open. Not annoyingly loud, but you can hear it all the time and, when friends follow me, they always remark about how loud my car sounds.

Running the car in efficient mode or shutting the valves closed makes it seem as quiet as a Toyota Camry.

The Remus is one of the best looking and sounding options on the market. I was going to get one and then got a great price on the MPE on a Black Friday sale.

The price is also very attractive.

dont buy this if your eventually planning on putting downpipes. it sounds terrible with catless downpipes. otherwise it sounds amazing.

Digging up an old thread..
I just had the Remus system fitted to my M2, the left flap does not appear to be operating at all, the right can be seen opening and closing when driving (by a friend following behind)
How do you perform the sweep test you mentioned to test the valves? can it be performed without special equipment?

Thanks

The M2 only has one valve, not 2 like the M3/4.

If you see one valve operating, then your exhaust is working properly

The oem system has only 1 valve, the Remus system definitely has 2 and are wired together to operate simultaneously...or supposed to anyways.

Oops, I must have overlooked the Remus part, sorry! I would have your installer double check the connection between the wires. It's possible that the wiring if faulty.

You should be able to test the valves by operating the oem functions of: comfort (closed) | sport plus (open)

You can hear a - beep - then the valves opening or shutting

Is it safe to assume that the remus mid pipe and cat back are a bolt on installation?

i.e. I want to purchase and install the catback first and see how I like the sound, and then potentially purchase and install the mid pipe.

Welcome to the forum!

Factory exhaust is single piece after the downpipes, installing both the Remus Midpipe and Muffler at the same time- it is 100% bolt-on. Remus Midpipe onjly would be cut and clamp.

Either configuration is simple to return to stock in the near future if needed.

So is there any point of running the car in sport+ if you open the valves with the controller? I don?t rlly understand what?s the point of sport and sport+ if u have that controller..?

So to be CA smog compliant and have that awesome sound, what's the recommended AA + Remus setup?

Also, is it possible to have the exhaust tip not stick out so far?

Thanks.

… Regardless of what exhaust you get, I would definitely recommend getting something to control the exhaust valves...

Ok., so after that, what's the point?

* Remove your secondary cats & resonator, i.e.: ("A.A.") Mid pipe
* Purchase a proper tune, e.g.: "BM3" (Which includes valve control.)

Cheers!
