Speed limits - HUD

So my bro is having his X5 F15 coded as I type this and they've said that they can do lots to mine, but if I'm honest there's only a couple of bits that I'd like, does anyone know if they can do:-

Speed limit signs on HUD (3 speeding tickets in a month!!!!)
Auto fold mirrors - one touch rather than holding the lock button
Adaptive headlights

I'm sure there are loads of bits that they can do, so any bits that other people have done that they really like please let me know.

Cheers

Neil

Hey Neil,

I have speed limit signs on the hud, is it not just an option in the hud settings?

I thought it should be, going to check now as it says it should be on the configurator.

Well that's annoying, the configurator says it should be there but there is no option for the speed limit signs in the HUD 'information displayed' screen.

Phone call to the dealer tomorrow.

I think you need to have "Speed limit" speced as an option to get it.
IIRC it involves having a camera in the rear view mirror area.
You can have it coded but you only get the default speed limit info held in the sat nav map data.

Thanks, that would do the job.

If I stick to the limit it won't matter where they are.

Update

BMW customer services are adamant that I should have this, they've tried to teach me how to navigate the iDrive system.

I can feel a visit to the dealers being the next move, which I'd rather not do until in know that there is or isn't a fix.

It's an optional extra and not standard with HUD.

If you have the Kanfas2 camera under your rear view mirror it can be retrofitted using software once you have the correct FSC code.

I had this retrofitted to my M4. I got the FSC code from the US as it was cheaper than going through BMW here

The best I've done is 2 speeding tickets in 2 days

As for the speed limit display if you can't see it on the dash then you won't get it on the HUD as the option won't be on your car as far as I'm aware.

Although I've learnt not to rely on the speed limit display as it can get fooled.

Mines a 2015 Neil, currently looking sad for itself in the garage as someone's scuffed the bumper whilst I was in the supermarket. Obviously they haven't left any details
Less than a month I've had it, what's the point of working and saving hard!

Could I machine it out?

Thanks, I'll have a look.

I'm gonna persevere with bmw too as the configurator implies that it's std on the HUD.

It's gone through to the plastic sadly but thanks for offering to help out

I was on the fence about having the number plate holes filled in and it repainted so this has just sealed the deal. My dash cam records for a few minutes after locking but sadly it didn't catch the perpetrator. I was paranoid about leaving anywhere as it was lol.

Sounds like a visit to the dealer might be the best option for your speed limit display as if they are saying it should be there then I'd get them to hopefully sort it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you bud
