Thanks for the info.

Is 1615kg with or without driver? Because it is 78kg more the the published weight of a DCT car.

I don´t exactly know .. but they write about weight according to BMW (weight on paper!) and weight that they weighted (not calculated!) ... and the second number is 1.615kg.

If it is without driver, that is a whopping 78kg heavier

Did they list the included options (besides DCT, CCB, and speed cloth)? What were their comments regarding weight?

BTW, thanks for entertaining my querries

But the RS5 weight at the same rules 1.788kg, that means 173kg more than the M4 ... would be nice if someone could post the difference between the E92M3 and the RS5.

NO ... the only other Option I am sure is the electronic M suspension ... but the car don´t look like an stripper !

I don´t remember reading anything about the weight of the car in this article ... I must take a look in the magazine.

Weight
If you take M4 no option weight 1497kg then add 40kg DCT + 75kg driver,luggage=1612kg
Just a thought.

My point is that the car could been weighted with driver and probably has a fair bit of options.

IMPOSSIBLE!!

Nurburgring GP Strecke have a lot of configuration, perhaps the time is from another configuration. Is not possibile that M4 is faster then a Gt2!!

Yeah, the only lap time that matters here is for the comparison to the RS5.

This is very accurate.

We know it handily beat the RS5 and that's all we can know. IMO, the M4 is not in the same ballpark as some of the other cars mentioned. Must be a different layout.

Hard to belive the M4 can hang with some of these cars but cool if true.
Thanks for the post! Great find

Hard to compare lap times without knowing who drove it. Professional race drivers will be about 2-3 seconds faster than your testing journalists or amateur racers.

That said, it is a great time, I cannot wait to se more of these tests and more lap times around different tracks.

It is NOT the complete Nürburgring GP Track
It is the "Autozeitung Test Track Config"
http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/autoze...est_track.html

BMW 1M Coupe 1:39.40
BMW M3 2007 1:40,7

And it says that the BMW Ceremic Brakes are not as good as the Audis Ceramics

This doesn't make sense to me comparing V6 to V8? The Rs5 is a competitor to the E92 M3 not the M4. If the next generation Rs5 get a v6 twin turbo as the rumors say then the comparison will be ligit.
If I'm in the market for RS5 I wouldn’t be looking at the M4 and vice versa....

they are both in the same class so why not? engine size doesn't matter because they put out similar power

So from the Picture the M4 has carbon brakes... How does the RS5 stop in less distance, does the RS5 also have a carbon option? I'm not very up to date on Audi's options.

Yeah, so according to this, the E92 is faster...kinda takes some air out of the balloon. Of course, we don't know how the drivers for these times stack up.

I'm pretty sure the M4 is Inline 6, not a V engine and that RS5 is a naturally aspirated V8, not turbo.
