Don't doubt that it will go up, whether that's already happening now is TBD, but for sure it's going up.
The CSL was cheap for a while and I should have bought one in Europe for 50kE, not they are 100kE The M3 GTS is absolutely insane as well. I don't view vehicles as investments, but it seems smart to buy a GTS at the end of the production run or slightly used when they get cheap, then hold on to it and sell for more than you bought it 10 years down the road after tracking it like there's no tomorrow EDIT: it's a shame this is happening so soon, I was looking forward to replacing the CS with a GTS

It's inevitable prices will go up eventually based on the low production and unique performance equipment. Probably won't lose and may make money from here. That said you still gotta like the car. The M4GTS just never pulled at the heart strings for me like the M3GTS did. Frankly I'd rather have a M4 CS given its 98% percent of the performance in a much better looking and usable package IMO.

Agreed, I was hoping to catch one in the $50's eventually but doesn't look like that's going to happen. Also had cayman gt4 alerts on at carmax and a lava red 6k mile one came up the other day for $75k. It was gone by the time I clicked the link. I think carmax screwed that up, I haven't seen one that "cheap"

You didn't have to be Nostradamus on this one.
Speculators involved early. Market didn't play out as planned. They flipped and created artificial turnover and for sale numbers. To add to, BMW produced more than scheduled. "excess" new sit around for months at (arguably) too high an MSRP. Over time, flippers and any mistake purchases get sorted out. The one I acquired was a "mistake" purchase, I guess. Purchased new, corporate ownership, 800 miles on the odometer, never tracked. Owner 1 lost almost 40% of value. Eventually they make their way into the hands of enthusiasts and likely long-term owners who recognize uniqueness and value. Stigma of negative reviews and bogus lap times become irrelevant in the face of actual experiences. Took me 1 drive on a back road to realize I wouldn't resell for what I purchased for. 3 currently for sale on cars.com. Lowest list price 90k. Probably still be some that pop up in the 60's or 70's, but a lot of current owners, BMW enthusiasts, will think long and hard about getting rid of theirs. Current BMW direction contributes to the hesitation and hold mentality. Sure would for me.

Cool piece of BMW history, but just a bit optimistic...
Like SYT_Shadow said, those who bought at 60-70% msrp are really in the position to maximize ownership experience and long-term value. Drive the hell out of it, maintain and keep service records, watch the performance auto market get increasingly bland.

If anyone is in the market for a "New" GTS in black, with only 5 miles, then here is your car:

First time seeing how the GTS shipped from the factory, pretty neat having the splitter mounted to the wing.
Pretty interesting that the GTS inventory has cleared out in the US. I'm honestly a little surprised. Maybe the G82 being such a polarizing design could increase demand for the F82, or maybe there's something else at work. Regardless, I'll keep driving the hell out of mine while trying to keep it shiny side up. |

Up, down, side to side...it doesn't matter to me since I plan on keeping it for a long time.

No more great deals for sure. I checked as well. Cheapest one is at $85,000 on cars.com.
There were 13 on cars.com just a few months ago. Something is going on. Checked European sites as well. None under $150,000 except for one at $125,000 with 27,000 miles on it. I do agree that the look of the future M4 might have something to do with it. Who would want an M4 CSL with giant grills... For now, still loving it. Just got the additional 3 year OEM warranty. How long did it take for the 1M prices to start stabilizing/appreciating?

These cars will only go up in price, completely agree. M3 GTS will be more expensive than M4 GTS. All "real" motors will grow in price.
Real and honest V8 and V10 will soon be a delicacy due to all of these CO2 standards and more. AMG will never again make a V12 ( left only for Pagani ) and after the AMG GTR V8 series there will be another car without a V8. Definitely honest cars M3 and M4 to buy and use as real estate. Buy and wait.
