Of course the paint will match. So many people worry about that, but how many non-matching paint jobs have you seen on modern cars? (Taken to a decent paint facility).

Hell, get a new bumper.

PS: I had some road rash on my front bumper. Took to a guy who does all the touch-up work for my local BMW dealership. You can never know anything happened. So yes, it is possible for a metallic paint to get touch upped and look good.

I was rear-ended about a month ago with about 500 miles on m car, so I definitely feel your pain. It looks like you came out with a bit more damage though, so I would definitely push for a new bumper if possible.

Sorry for your pain. Hope repairs all go well. But, what do you mean by "dust that gets inside the car from the prep work..."?

Body shops are notorious for leaving a window down when doing body work. Unless I'm the only one that notices that. I think they do it so if by chance the keys are left inside that if the doors get locked they can open the car.

Garage List
I went through this just a couple of months ago... assuming you were not at fault, remember to pursue for diminished value.

It's such an inconvenience. That's why I leased it. 😊

Their insurance got me an SUV as a loaner for the repair period so not too so much for me but was pining for the car every day I was in that loaner!

I have never had body work done to my vehicle, and they got everything perfect the first time, ever! They always miss something and I have to point it out for them to fix. This is with about 4 trips to the body shop in my lifetime, none of which were my fault, was the wife or kids car.

Be sure to look into a diminished value claim since you own the car.

Sorry OP and i feel your pain as i got rear ended first time in my life and that too in the M. I was shattered but they fixed the car like new and put new bumper and trunk. Everything was great except they could never align the trunk 100% and even now the right side is tiny off the left side and the shop says thats the best they can do.
