Anyone who's driven M3/M4... 19" vs 18"

Man I love the look of the 19" wheels on M3/M4, but after actually driving car, I may go with 18's due to them probably being a little more "forgiving".

Anyone here driven the M3/M4 on 18's ? If so, was it okay as far as handling, stance etc, softer ?

I'm not looking for soft soft ride, but I'm thinking I might have best of both worlds, lil softer ride, and still have the performance, but I know I will lose the way the car "looks", damn the 19's are sweet.!!!

I opted for the 18's, no performance loss and more forgiving ride. 19's still look better IMO though.

19's look GREAT

18's look GOOD, and seem more "retro M3ish" lol

I like the 18's too

I would say to buy it with the 19" wheels and then pick up a used set of 18" wheels on this or any other BMW board to use during long trips. I think that the 19" wheels really make the car pop, but understand the loss in performance/comfort with the larger wheels.

I wish they made the 18" wheels in a 19" or 20" size. The design of 18" is awesome, just looks too small for the car, IMO.

My 18s are comfortable and look good, just wish bmw would have made them wider. I just got after market 19s and for some reason they feel more comfortable with the meaty mpss. I will say the car feels a little more responsive with the 18s but my new 19s look great. Few pics of my SSll M3 -- updated pics 5-21 - BMW M3 and BMW M4 Forum

I was worried about the same thing. Started on the 18's, then put on some 19" HRE FF01s with new PSS's and I honestly can't tell the difference. If anything, I feel like the tire tread had more of an impact on the ride quality than wheel size.
