How did you get to the dealership on delivery day?

I'm picking up a ZCP 6MT M4 on Thursday and a buddy of mine will most likely give me (and wifey) a ride to the dealership since she wants to experience the first drive off the lot.

I was curious about how everyone else normally gets to the dealer to pick up their shiny new toys ...

Friend?
Relative?
Spouse?
Uber?
Taxi?
Public Transit?
B(us)M(etro)W(alk)?

Drove my trade in there. Was paranoid not to get into an accident on the way.

I had to drop off my car last week to get shipped to a buyer in a different province and accidentally hit a pothole on the way to the dealer. Thankfully nothing happened but I can totally relate to the feeling.

I'll be having a friend drive me over.

Last time I bought a motorcycle from a dealership, ended up taking a cab over.

If push came to shove I'd be willing to walk all day to get the thing

A neighbor drove me to the train station, then I took the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner from San Diego (Del Mar) to Irvine. Dealer picked me up at the train station, a couple miles from the dealership.

It was an epic day to walk from my house to the train station with my two Boyz and the love of my life. We had a two hour train ride, where we were then picked up at the destination station by the CA who brought us to the dealership. The car was there still wrapped. It was an awesome day!! We drove home in the M3 and it took about 3 hours because of heavy traffic.

Enjoy your journey OP!!

My last few cars have been leased, so I drop off my old car when I pick up the new.

Otherwise, my wife drives me in what's usually her new car - for whatever reason, even if we order on the same day her car arrives earlier. That was true even when they were both made in SC.

Of course.

But did you get them to throw in a free snack-size bag of pretzels and a bottle of water? 'Cause if not then that's just weak, man.

no i didn't.. and now i'm just not feeling the car anymore. time to sell it and buy something else. it's definitely a design flaw that they didn't tell me this ahead of time.

First time my wife and I rented a car to drive from SF bay area to Long Beach. Second time we flew down there and dealer picked us up.

We took the U-bahn to the Welt on Delivery day.

I flew into GSP and took an Uber to the hotel. BMW provided a shuttle to the Performance Center for Re-Delivery.

Mine was easy, I had unfortunately sold my car like 10 days before my car was available as it got lost at port. So I was in a rental car but was through the dealership network of the BMW dealer I was working with. I was able to drive the Corolla up to the BMW dealer and leave it there and drive away in my car.
