@BoxKing A flash tune can only be as reliable as the knowledge and expertise of the person providing the tune. Just because the tune was delivered via flash doesn't actually make it safe or reliable. I can tell you're new to BMW tuning, and are just going off of other people's opinions/thoughts about their first hand experience, whether bias or non-bias. Thus, the statements you've made in this thread are rather silly since you've never experienced those claims even to a 2nd degree.
I would recommend you do much further reading of other people's experiences before boldly calling something junk. If you truly know what you're saying, then why even suggest the JB4 as a WMI controller? Is it because that's what you've been reading on the forums? I hope you know that there are other WMI controllers in the market, not just the junky JB4. Even some of the most highly worshiped flash tuners are pro advocates of the JB4 that you strongly say is a piece of junk. Not going to say who they are, because I do not want to break a lot fanboys' hearts, but you can find out who they are by doing a search on the forums. |

Can't speak of best bang for the buck since my catback exhaust alone cost more than 5K.
But.. Last two mods I did gave me the most power: 1. BPM flash 2. AA downpipes They cost me 2.3K (installed) and added more than 50WHP.

This is not my first trip down the tuning-highway, nor my first BMW, nor the first time I've tuned a BMW. Not sure how much you paid Miss Cleo for a palm reading into my life, but I hope you get a refund because you're dead wrong. Of course the tune depends on the company/tuner(s) providing each individual flash option... so thank you for clarifying what we all already know "Captain Obvious". Yes there are other WMI controllers, and I did not reference any other one, bc I was only talking about what "I felt" was the only useful tool the JB4 can offer. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're very bias, and favor your JB4- you have only praised its greatness... all you have to do is search for your own comments. This is just me, but I'd be pissed if I recently bought a JB4 just prior to the release of the new OBDII Flashing option(s) available. I feel many ppl went the JB4 route in the past bc they didnt want to go through the "bench flashing" process. Im glad you like your tune, and I hope you have a great experience with it, but if you wish to promote and or give props to one or the other... well Im sure you can do so without bringing me into it. Thanks. Its the weekend, and its time to slug some beers... go E A G L E S |

Congrats to the Eagles for making it to the NFC championship game. I like their chances better with a healthy Carson Wentz. Then again, the Vikings haven't had their #1 QB and RB for the majority of the season, so it should make for an interesting matchup.
Anyhow, I wasn't going to do this to you, because I believe in giving people a chance. However, your overall piss poor attitude, and BS statements need to stop at some point, hence, I feel the need to EXPOSE you for your true colors. Hope you enjoy! Quote:
So this is really not your first time with a BMW, huh? Then I suppose you forgot to mention that in your earlier posts below: Quote:

I do find it odd that you're bashing one product you've never had any experience with after "months of research". It sure looks like you were singing a much different tune before you even had any kind of tune on your sunroof-optioned M4. Quote:

Here's my advice for you: 1. Treat others the way you want to be treated. You claim to be a VP/COO of a corrugated box manufacturing company (family business). Just imagine how your employees would feel towards you if you treated them like crap. 2. There is ABSOLUTELY no need to LIE to fit in. You don't need to pretend to know anything, or claim to have experience in something you clearly don't have any experience in. That's how false/inaccurate information gets spread around. 3. Anything you say on the forums, can and will be used against you. See advice #2. |

A company will mail you a preloaded tune of your choosing. You will then plug into your OBD2 port with a computer and follow the prompts, then boom you are done. Custom tuning is possible with some of these companies, just ask them first. You would find a dyno in your country, and they could custom tune your car over the internet.

ECU Flash, plus downpipes. Depending on labor costs of your local installer, you can have 500+whp at your disposal for sub.... $1500

Sub 1500 for sure. Many have done it with just downpipes and a BM3 Stage 2 off the shelf map on just 93 octane. With some custom tuning by the likes of CaryTheLabelGuy or F80Paul you could most likely squeeze out a bit more even.

Yup, it can be done 100% remotely. We send you the Evolve Automotive EvolveR OBDII cable. The whole reading/writing process is conducted through OBDII without the need to remove the ECU for a physical "unlocking." Here is a video we put together presenting the process from start to finish. |

Downs and the AA mid is basically a straight pipe. Keep that in mind. It's loud af with the valves open and there's a slight smell. I've never noticed the exhaust smell while in the car but when I get out I can smell it. Some people find this completely off putting. (I run valves fully open almost all the time) I do have some vids of this setup if you care to look. Maybe consider doing one or the other first, then if you want to get rowdy get the other. That'll save you some coin. |
