BUT, I do like the idea of a sea sucker for those weird corner case scenarios like having a rental car or something of the sort. For the novelty of it, I use to get funny looks with this setup.

Assuming you've used the mount a fair bit since last July, have you noticed any marks on the paint fron the suckers? I'm surprised when people question the desire to mount the bike outside the car. I don't want an oily, muddy MTB in the boot (trunk) of the car after a ride; I want to be able to carry more than just a bike in the car; I want to carry 2 bikes, because riding with a mate is more fun; I want to take the kids with me; I don't want to mark the leather folding the seats down; I don't want the inevitable skin abrasions and paint damage trying to get a heavyish bike in and out of the boot; and so on and so on... |

I am waffling on getting a seasucker to haul my windsurfing equipment, plus occasional mountain bike.
Thoughts, advice? Seasucker has not responded to several emails.

Just wanted to share my experience with Seasucker. I've been running their rack on my S4 for around 6 months now with no issues. I just picked up a 2015 F80 M3 and used the rack on the carbon roof with no issues as well. I haven't had time to take photos of the rack on the M3 but here it is on my S4. I'll post some shots on the M3 when I get a chance

Where on the M3's CF roof do you mount the suction cups? From my understanding the edges are probably the best place to mount them. |

Yeah this breaks the rule that the bike needs to be worth more than the car. I have put my Nomad in the trunk of my M4 once for the drive up to Big Bear. Don't think I will do it again. Total PITA, it is much easier in my truck.

This rack is so easy to set up. I'll never put my bike in the trunk again. |

My question is why sell the bike? Just ready to try something new? I have a Nomad right now (my second) with an 11/6 and pimptastic build along with an HD3. My HD3 hasn't been touched in months!

I've been road biking more this year and my Nomad just sits there. It's such an amazing bike and build that I hate to see it there collecting dust. I got a killer deal on it from the owner of DVO Suspension so I wanted to pass it on to someone who would ride it more than me.

I am on day 3 of using the Seasucker Talon to transport my bike to and from my local group ride.
Took a little effort to get it to attach given the lines of the roof but so far it works flawlessly. |

I disagree fully, I wouldn't consider myself a fred (cat 2 road and track) and I just bought one of these for my f82, I know I can fit 2 bikes in the back, but with something like the silverstone interior, who would want to risk all the grease marks? I'd rather just throw em' on the roof and be done with it.

I have used the standard GoPro suction mount all over my car for a year and it works great. Never had a problem with the CF roof, but looking back it is more difficult to get a perfect fit first try.
I also like how the CF roof looks when camera is placed about 8" behind the windshield.
