I always put my wallet and iPhone in the cup holders, so I never noticed this.

This is correct. Nothing you can do about it.

After reading your response, I did some Googling. Seems like this has been reported in several different car models from different manufactures. Always seems to be some side effects as electronics and technology advances.

No biggie, at least I know what it is now, and also I learned how the sensors for if someone is wearing their seat belt works.

Will trip DEPENDING on where you put it on passenger seat.

That's why some have issues while other do not.

You can also buy Carly for $60 on Amazon (android) or from Carly direct and code it yourself if you don't want to mess with laptops, software, etc

Passenger warning is in the list of codes

Full disclosure, I've never used the thing, but sounds like it's super easy

FWIW, I tried driving around the other day with my 7 in various positions on the front seat. Couldn't get the chime to kick on at any point.

Seat belt light on when no one sitting in seat

Hey I'm having a problem my seat I think my belt chime is going off for my pass side and no one is sitting in the seat I put it in went off and then took it out and it stoped. Is this common problem I feel like just a simple seat recalibration for the weight sensor might be needed ! I recently put in a jb4 and went map 2 ,plugs , charge pipes , cold side pipe ,but I don't think this has anything to do with it, just weird it happened at the same time .

Yep. This has happened to me too. Having a phone on the passenger seat occasionally triggers the sensor, but phone plus another small, light object (e.g., a hat) seems to do it all the time. I ended up having it turned off via coding and haven't had any issues/annoyances since.

Happens to me to, I just move the phone/object towards the backrest of the seat and it stops.
