M4 CS production total so far?
Is there a limit to the number of M4 CS that will be made?
If so, is there anywhere I can find out how many were due to be made in the UK? Thanks! |

If history repeats itself, we won't see anything on F82 production volumes until the F82 chassis ends it's production run. So no, no volume numbers yet regarding the M4cs.
Regarding this specific question, the answer is simple: ZERO

We don't know the total so far, and as CanAutM3 says, we probably won't know how many were made until the run has ended and SickFinga compiles everything like he did so graciously for the F80 and for past M3 models as well.
BMW did not publicly state that there would be any specific limit to the number of M4 CS produced in total nor for any specific region. Current inside information suggests the M4 CS will end production February of 2020, while the rest of the M4 coupe lineup will end June of 2020. So by the second half of next year, we should have data. |

So far there are 999 RoW LHD, 362 RoW RHD and 682 NA versions. There haven't been new M4 CS built in almost a month.

So only 2,043 M4cs produced thus far. This is still far from the 3,000 units BMW expected to produce with only 9 months left in a ~3 year production run. It seems that the M4cs is selling less than what BMW expected. I wonder how it will change their ///M model hierarchy strategy going forward and how each model is positioned.

Sadly, that doesn't seem to work anymore. Before, the ///M segment in itself served a rather narrow niche of buyers, but that is no longer the case. There are way too many buyers that are only looking for a fast luxo cruiser daily driver when buying an M3/4. Look how many people complain about lack of cooling seat, soft close doors, 4WD, comfort access, heated steering wheels, armrests, etc... However, there are still some of us that are after the essence of what the M3(4) is and has always really been about, the one car that does it all, the ultimate compromise between daily practicality and track toy. Offering the different trim levels on a given ///M model line allows to cover a greater spectrum of buyer needs.

Why would BMW do this?
Everyone and their mother here is a secret P-car fanboy who is dutifully scraping together enough dough to buy one, one ramen noodle dinner at a time. P-car offers 600000000 trim levels and milks you for all you've got. Seeing the feedback on this forum to everything P does, including aberrations like a 4 cylinder car that's 100k, why wouldn't BMW? |

The M4cs started production for the ROW a full year and a half before the North American market.

Thanks for the precision. I went with what I saw in ETK with Feb-17 showing as production for the M4cs. Maybe pre-prod press cars...
Mine is a July-2018 production

Since I started this thread, I have been told by someone working at BMW here in the UK that there will be about 3500 units by the time production is over.
If I remember correctly isn't there 1200 M3CS's worldwide? If so there should be more than twice as many M4's when all is said and done. |

Someone said that he asked someone else at BMW M in Munchen and was told that only around 960 M4 CS were built, so that's why I am asking. I don't believe this number. SickFinga posted somewhere else that ~1267 M3 CS were produced, so I was wondering if he has also data for M4 CS. |

The auto paid 42000 more for his car than the one with the manual. ALL OPTIONS. They are driving the exact same car. looks the same (for the most part), drives the same, feels the same, handles the same etc. but 1 person saved over 40k. This is why BMW does what they do. And Porsche. and many others. There are always morons who want to spend way too much on a car because of all the nonsense options that no one really needs. Its not about if someone can afford it. there is a limit to where someone should be spending money on a certain model, regardless if you can afford it or not. Oh and I was just at the dealership 3 days ago, they are offering 21k off of a M4CS. In Canada, they are not selling well. There are a few 2018 M3CS brand new that can be bought for probably close to 80k (Canadian). My dealer said they just did not sell like everyone thought in Canada. 7-8 months ago i was quoted on a lease $1800 cdn for a new 2019 M4. Now I can get it for close to $1k tax in. with zero down. They cant move them. |

Most dealers I know don't even allow test drives in the CS in order to keep the mileage new. How are people going to find out how different they are without driving them? Lol. |

The BMW chassis number inquiry system has now changed.
After the second half of 2019, the chassis numbers unfortunately do not go in sequence. To give an example of US version M4 CS; AH85016-AH85197 182 M4 CS models were produced in this range of chassis numbers. But; When we move forward with the sequential chassis number, we see other productions. FH00793 - M4 CS / US FH00794 - 320 iX Touring F31 FH00795 - 330 d Touring F31 FH00796 - 320 i Touring F31 However, we do not know how many US Spec / RoW LHD / RoW RHDs were produced in the new arrangement. VIN archiving will now be very difficult. |
