It's the damn pads. SRF or stock fluid the RS29s suck balls if pushed too hard. I've experienced the exact same thing multiple times with the Pagids. Lesson learned, drive them 7/10ths, have fun, but personal bests are no longer achievable with Pagids.

You may want to flush your brakes again...sound like it could be air. Case in point: I had a student at Sebring a few weeks back and he experienced the same thing. Flushed the brakes and ran the fluid through twice and it was fine.

Maybe this helps.

Ran COTA a few weeks ago on RSL's, and had some fade after repeated stops from 150-20. Just don't hold up, hence my AP/Essex kit order. My shop is also going to attempt some cooling measures as well. We'll see how it goes.

How did PFC08s work at laguna? I'm taking my M to Laguna and searching for a good set of race pads to buy

Much better than RS29s.

Are you running PFCs on the street as well, or do you swap back to the OEM pads?

Stock pads on the street. I cannot stand the noise that track pads make on the street.

I've been running PFC08s on the street since a track day in June, to damn hot here to change them back. They are noisy at times.

Thanks. I guess I'll just the PFCs, and then I'll swap them before and after the events, or when I get tired of hearing the squealing noise.

Ferodo DS2500 are silent and are a great track pad. They just wear fast on a heavier car and with heavy track use on sticky tires. They're my go to for a dual purpose pad.

In my other track days with RS29s, they faded to a degree that it was plain scary (pedal almost going to the floor). Also, I pushing the car more as well yesterday with PFCs and improved my PB by 1.4sec. I'm gonna say that PFC08 is the clear winner of this comparison. They squeal like crazy tho, nothing like RS29s.
Exactly my experience as well.

Just for reference sake, my experience has been different with the DS2500. I run them with the AP 9668 kit for the street only and they are very noisy until you get some decent heat into them. Definitely squealing loudly for the first 5 stops and will chirp occasionally after.

I think the key is how the pad material was transferred to the rotor, that impacts the noise for sure.

Street and Track pads

I like the Endless ME20 for both street and track for my BBK. I like it because it doesn't eat my rotors alive at $1200 per set. Very important to me. Moreover, it has a great bite for stopping power and it last longer compared to other brands I've tried.
