Car dinged in both doors - what do I do?

Just went back to the car (in parking garage) to pick up jackets before a concert and see that both doors on passenger side are dinged by the car that's parked next to me.

What do I do - have taken lots of iPhone pics for my insurance - and their license plate.

Grrrr

if they aren't big dents i would save the insurance claim and get paintless dent repair. I had a door ding on my car and the dentless guy was able to fix it, cant even see it anymore.

If you haven't already left, leave a note on the car explaining the damage and with your contact information. Most likely can be fixed by paintless dent repair but there is no reason you should pay for it.

Be sure to get a quality paintless dent guy. I have had it done twice. One time on a BMW and another on a G37..... The G37 came out awesome and the dent was way bigger. The BMW dent came out with dimples all around it and the only way to fix that was replace the panel..

Two paint chips right now, one in each door

Did you get pics of your paint on the other car door or just their license plate?

had the same thing happened to me a few months ago here in Dubai. I just called a guy named The Dent Guy who did paintless dent removal and it looked perfect, he came to my house and did it with his tools. Couldn't get any easier, the job took like 30 mins and it only cost me $100 USD per panel

I tried - difficult to see in parking garage light. Lots of missing paint on the leading edge of the doors on the Tacoma next to me.

Thought about planting my size 10s in each door. Not the best example to set in front of the kids tho!

And the garage probably has cameras...

I hear you there - you're a better man than me.

I wonder if you can get access to the garage's video feed when the dents happened ?

That would certainly help you get them fixed without any out of pocket expense.

Absolutely fucking hate asshole, inconsiderate pricks like this. Sorry to hear about this OP. I'd leave a note saying you have it on camera if they don't contact you to pay for damage you will be contacting insurance.

This is when you need a motion detector with side cameras and records the F*ucker hitting your doors. Got you sucka, no way of denying it.

Hope all goes well

I sometimes wonder if some people do it on purpose - especially if they have a beater and are jealous

I expect it will be difficult to prove the Tacoma did it. YOU know they did but inevitably they will say the dings must have been there before they parked next to you, even if confronted.

I don't think PDR is a solution if you need paint. Body shop shouldn't be too bad. I had a gouge (from something someone threw out a pickup window in front of me on a highway) fixed on my last car (Audi S4) for a few hundred bucks at an Audi certified shop. Sucks to have to pay it but it's probably either that or live with it as-is. You can try filing a police report but doubtful much will come of it.

Should've taken the beater if you have one. You'll learn from this and park smarter.
