ACS Springs Being Fitted - Here's my Courtesy Car

Big thanks to Richard the Sales Manager at John Clark Tayside, I only gave them a weeks notice to get my springs booked in and he gave me this! They want to keep mine in for a couple of days (should get it back by midday tomorrow otherwise I'll have to wait till Monday) so I get to drive this around for now.

Competition Pack, has various M Perf extras (including the Alcantara steering wheel, not sure I'm liking it, the blue thing at the top is distracting and the wheel itself it picking up loads of dust, not that I'm ocd about car cleaning!)

What do you think about the black headlights and wheels? The headlights look to be the "shadow edition" types the F3x are getting, but the rear lights are the same and not tinted (thankfully). I do like the wheels, probably go with Silverstone as well I reckon?

Saw both of these a couple of days ago, got to admit I really liked the M4. I had the other White M3 as a courtesy car last week. Great garage, friendly staff and know how to treat the customer right

More dealers should be giving similar or better cars as courtesy cars. They should loaning X5M's, M5's or just fully loaded M2/3/4's to M owners to entice them into spending more on their next car or trading the current one in.

I booked run in service when I bought the car as it needed to be done by a certain date and was told there were no courtesy cars at all! Thankfully the salesman gave me his 2 series. Dealers should have M cars set aside for M owners IMO.

I'm not sure, they can't just have M cars sitting around, my local dealer is a smaller garage in Dundee (big franchise though), they usually only have the one M car as a demonstrator, my expectations for a courtesy car today wasn't great so for this to appear was very nice!

That white LCI M3 looks all kinds of awesome, loving the stormtrooper look.

Thanks for that, looking forward to seeing the pics. I notice you have the front splitter, be interested in how you get on with it being lower.

Do you mind me asking how much they were (inc fitting) from BMW?

Just over 1200 quid, not particularly cheap of course. This includes the parts, fitting and KDS and I did get a bit of a discount. I'll get some phots up as soon as poss, already planning my speed bump avoidance routes!

Did you not fancy the MP HAS kit?

Speed bumps are my biggest worry

Nah it seemed a bit too serious for me. Anyway I've just had to call to go and pick it up, wish me luck, hopefully I'll make it home with the splitter still in place! Will get phots up asap

You really see the blue hue in the Silverstone paint when parked next to a white car. Both look good but no regrets on the SS11 paint for me.

I like the black wheels and would have picked them if they had been available.

I'm having that fitted this Thursday, I don't have the MP splitter on mine which should help but it's doesn't slam the car max is 20mm IIRC.

£1650 all in the Kit/Fitting/KDS.

Too much if I'm honest, however people spend the same or more than that on the carbon bits it was a toss up between the two for me.

Wow that is a lot especially compared to the ACS springs above..

But I guess it's height adjustment adds some cost

Not cheap as I say, I've had ACS springs on an M5 and they good lets see what the MP HAS is like.

The kit is £1000 (mental) and the fitting and KDS makes up the rest (again not good)

I could get a KW HAS fitted for £750 inc KDS so I think I need certifying.

Are you going MP HAS for warranty reasons Will?

IIRC you rack up the miles in your car similar to myself (20k pa) therefore isn't the warranty expired after 50k? Unless you buy extended warranty. That would make the MP kit a moot purchase in comparison to the KW?

We have an unlimited mileage warranty for 3 years.

http://www.bmw.co.uk/en_GB/topics/ow.../warranty.html

I'm getting them for a mix of reasons, warranty/developed by M to their specs/good reviews on the main forum thread as well, have lead me to take the plunge.
