I've never been clear on this but this frozen silver appears to lack the bluish hue of SSII. So is this a pure silver then?

Looks stunning! Don't usually like frozen paint but this really brings out the lines in the F80.

Frozen silver (or frozen Silverstone as it should be called) is the best colour BMW do IMHO.

That looks stunning although the pictures are heavily processed, in real life the finish really does pick out all the lines and curves of the car.

It also changes hue depending on the light conditions.

I have to agree that the pictures here are heavily processed. Though the exact name is Frozen Silver Metallic, the pictures shown here look too much more metallic than real life finish. I guess it is individual preference but I like the real life finish better. I attached a picture from previous owner for comparison. This picture represents the real life finish better. I agree Frozen Silver is the best color BMW offers especially for M3. Thank you!

Yes I know the official name is frozen silver which is silverstone base paint with the BASF satin lacquer applied rather than a standard silver, I had a frozen silver edition e92 M3.

Hence my point about it changing hue like the standard silverstone does depending on the light conditions it would go from a white silver to a light blue silver, which I think is great.

Beautiful car.

So cool that it uses Titanium Silver Metallic as the base coat! I had a titanium silver e36 M3 and have always been partial to that silver. No wonder I like Silverstone and Frozen Silver, using it as the base coat.

As a fellow San Diego BMW owner, congratulations and welcome! The car looks immaculate and great shots of it! Frozen Silver fits the F80 so well, arguably my favorite!

If you aren't a BMWCCA member, I encourage you to do so. The San Diego chapter has a lot of activities and a lot of members. I've met some great enthusiasts through the club. Would love to see this car at autocrosses, car shows, club drives, tech sessions, and social events. A yearly membership is $48 and you'll get a monthly Roundel magazine in the mail, weekly Roundel online editions, bi-monthly chapter newsletter, plus club discounts on parts and labor with BMW dealers and independents. Correct me if I'm wrong but these look like Apex EC-7s, not 359s.
