Well aware, just would be nice to either make this thing quiet (in/out) or loud (in/out) on the fly :-)

the valve control lets you open and close the valve on the fly no problem. I do it all the time when I see a cop or coming into my neighborhood. With AS off and valves closed the car IMO is super quiet in the cabin. I can barely hear the exhaust at all.

Once again I am well aware of this option and the ability. Sometimes I feel like a nut and sometimes I don't. That being said it would be nice to be able to enable/disable both the valve opening and AS off/on on the fly. When I am in the car I would want all the damn noise I can get. When I have my girl in the car I would want it as quiet as a church mouse... :-)

ahhh ok gotcha. was confused on what you were asking, didn't realize you were asking about flipping the AS off and on. I think in your case then you should de activate AS off and just get DPs. That way when your valves are open the car is INSANE LOUD and when valves are closed its quiet. With stock DPs and AS off your car is not going to be any louder valves open or closed with any after market exhaust. You really need to have DPs (catless) to dramatically change the sound of the car

Sounds like you're the perfect candidate. You simply get the option of opening the valves "on demand", and the option to turn it off or revert to the OEM profile on the fly.

Correct, no control over Active Sound.

Most people that have dropped by and requested it coded off, some leave it on.

Hahahaha! I like it :-) Figured if we are already tapped in with the module to handle valve position why not handle just one more thing... :-)

They all come with full instructions. Let me know if you need any help in installation along the way.

Wow, the cars sounds great Golffer!! I can't wait to get exhaust. Would installing dps on my car possibly put my warranty at risk?

I wanted to go dp first. I haven't made a decision on the exhaust system yet. Yours sounds great!! Ill be honest , I'm not dropping that kinda loot for it yet at this point. I still need wheels. So thats probably next on the list. Exhaust might have to wait till fall. I really want dps though, they really make that car sound great even on stock muffler it's better.

DPs with stock exhaust I'm sure will be MORE then enough. Prob would make the car night and day more aggressive

you should try to make it to that meet I am going to in March. I let you hear my car in person if you like. http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1084551
