The end of four decades of ///M3 comes to this BMW is becoming a mirror of Audi. A few years back audi made their A3 and the auto makers began to fill model gaps that were very high spread in prices, low and behold they created the A4 line then S line emerging from sedan to A5 coupe, doesn't this seem just the same as what BMW is doing now? Separating the sedan from coupes on a higher more expensive lines such as the 4 coupe? I get the strict regulations set forth by EPA by 2024, are pushing automakers to FI, somehow feel we are on the short end of the stick and soon motorsport will be something we'll be reading in the history books, as we get watered down versions of what a true icon was traded off with tech and FI. This is ok at best in my books, what I dislike is moving to an all new platform, +/- the digits it's like Porsche making a 711 It always boils down to the EBIT.

If it'll be faster, handle better, have more power, get better mpg, plus all the other amenities i.e. nav. sat radio, heated seats, etc... how is it "watered down"??? Everything has been improved.

Unless BMW absolutely looses it's collective mind, the M4 will definitely have more power, be faster, be lighter and get better mileage. However, chassis dynamics are yet unclear. With all the changes BMW is making to the ///M cars, no one is certain how the steering will feel, what the engine is going to be like or, how the chassis is going to handle fast driving. I'm sure it will be good as, everything M makes is "good". However, whether or not it satisfies previous ///M owners is another thing, altogether.

Much better than the space ship bumpers version I saw somewhere, the super car gills still don't do it if me. The rest is quite appealing.

Because most of this forum is made up of people in two camps. The people who think the M3 is some kind of hardcore track machine and the people who only bought it to tell their friends they have an M3, you can see these people cruising at 59mph in the fast lane with bright angel eyes and a Brembo BBK.

Thought the side skirts were a bit too fat and front bumper not low enough. So I did some quick/dirty photoshopping to the render. Added the bumper curtains like on the test mule. And for kicks, added the front and side splitters. I always hated the 6 series bumper.

It only needs those 359 CSL wheels and frozen (grey or blue) finish and its done! Too bad it doesn't come with a V8...

Have any of our resident render gurus come up with an image of the 4GC based on this concept? Personally, I think the length behind the front door to rear bumper will look better with GC style doors than the coupe, which to my eye looks a little bulky. Thoughts?
