LOL...I was thinking the same thing. I couldn't get 21 out of my E92 if I got out and pushed it myself!

Or (in my case) getting to old to crawl in and out of a Porsche.

Damn P cars hurt my back on long drives

I get a consistent 29.5mpg on the highway in efficient, 24mpg city in mostly Sport. IMO you can't ask for much more for a performance car.

Have no idea what you're doing or not doing to get that mileage! I couldn't get that out of my 428i GC..!

When in Sport+ on the streets, it comes down to 14 mpg for me...

Only way to get close to that kind of mileage is to always baby the throttle. That means keeping it well below 80 on the highway using cruise control and never accelerating quickly in the city. Of course no red lining. Ever. Which basically means no fun at all.

I always set the cruise control at 75 and of course I'm not mashing the throttle on the highway. But I'm also not babying anything in an attempt to get the best mileage. Still hard acceleration on ramps.

You didn't strike me as old enough to have a 41 year old daughter...

To the OP, you're supposed to let the hood slam. Pushing it closed may not engage the latches properly.

I average about 20-21 mpg with this car but I only drive in Sport+. I only get about 17 mpg with the E46 and E36/7 so this is an improvement.

21-22 mpg in mixed driving. Never owned an E92 M3 to be able to compare. I did however own an E46 M3 and used to get 19 mpg tops in the same type of driving.

I happened to dent my hood at the dealership when the thing had 5 miles on it. Not thinking about the two latch system, I sit it on the latches, then pressed in the middle softly to close, well that's great when the latch is in the middle, not so good when the latches are outboard. Doh. 80 dollars later to bring the dent out.

@allinon72 - Do you have the sunroof option? I am only asking because is that how you hoist the jib sail?

I must beat the $hit out of my car. I don't track the mileage as I don't care. But, when I use it several days in a row to commute to work, I have to fill up every 3 days. My office is 16 miles one way.

I should add I never let my tank go below 1/3 of a tank...

Right. I couldn't give a shit about gas mileage. If that's your main concern a Toyota Prius has your name on it.

My morning:

Get in car
Put on WAZE (Johnny Law is everywhere)
Sport Plus everything with MDM
Pull out of driveway
Floor this bitch!

I generally hover around 14mpg. I've hit 9.8mpg avg with E85.

This is given I drive the fuck out of this car & do some city driving .

Gas is too cheap in America to worry about its price. You guys don't understand how tough the Europeans have it.

I know exactly how tough Europeans have it. They get screwed on Fuel prices. I've driven all over Europe. As a matter of fact the wifey and I just got back from 2 weeks driving all around Greece. Over 100 Euro to fill up the POS VW Passat we drove around.

Europeans LOVE taxes!

Lol exactly. Also why everyone over there LOVES Diesel engines. I don't how it was in Greece but I know in Croatia and all the Balkan countries, you had no clue what type of gas you were getting lol. No octane selections haha
