Thanks Sam for the more in depth review of the MT and the back to back comparison of the passive and active suspension. To me, it confirms that my choices are the right ones for me. Thanks again!

E46 is sitting pretty high. Transit spacers left in place?

Great write-up!!!
I hate seeing pictures of SO cars as it makes me want to change my order I get to the track 10 to 12 days a year and, like others have suggested, easily go 2 seasons without replacing rotors. The claim that the rotors get replaced daily is either incorrect, an exaggeration for dramatic impact by the person who said it, or there is something fundamentally wrong with the rotors

Apparently this car can wear puke green well. Just can't pick a bad color for the new M3. Amazing pictures. Would have been nice to see black and silverstone represented, but I can cope.

"Buy one, enjoy it at the track and make sure you opt for the superb carbon ceramic brakes."
I would have gotten the brakes if they had not used up all their supplies on the press cars. |

That looks like MW to me but hard to say for sure... the lines on the car are very apparent (and MW is better than AW at showing lines) and the overall hue would suggest it is. Hard to say as I always have a hard time with telling them apart in pics. In real life it is easier (although in some light they are still pretty darn close).

Well-written article, thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I know it's hard to tell without solid data but in your estimation were the cars affected by heat soak? I ask because BMW sacrificed intercooler efficiency for throttle response and I'm not sure how well the cars will perform consistently in hot climates. |
