getting a 2015 M4 with 34k miles completely stock from closed auction. I want to tune but I'm upstate NY so not that many great pro tuners and tbh I just want the GTS features the stock HP is fast enough for me since I'm coming from a 17 STI (slow) but I'm asking is this just like the Cobb AP just plug and play pretty much ? I got a dct m4 so I'm guessing I got to do the trans fluid

You don't need a tuner or a shop to install BM3. It's pretty much idiot proof if you ask me. It's not exactly like a Cobb AP,but similar in terms of simplicity. Just plug the cable and open the app on your phone (or open the bootmod3 webpage on your laptop) and click flash.

Not sure why you think u need to change your trans fluid? Did u mean trans flash?

I think they heard us, they are adding the change in the description of the map. Version 8.2:- burble at downshift
If they can make the f80 crackle on downshift like my old rs3, I'm buying all the bm3's

Is this true?
Although BPM have in fact previewed/announced their ability to freeze flash counter and roll back, I don't believe this was ever implemented to customers.

BM3 does freeze the flash counter (since they announced ability to OBD unlock) as well as have the ability to bypass the 60 flash limit which they had since before OBD unlock.

FYI just to correct the info swifty provided, BM3 does NOT allow flash counter roll back. However, he is correct that BM3 is the only platform that maintains your software version whether using the tuned maps or going back to stock, you are always on your original version. In addition, once you return to stock and lock your DME, BM3 rolls back the "Flash Date" saved in the DME back to your last flash date prior to getting tuned.
Flash counter freeze has been implemented in our software since January. It also freezes at the time of unlock, so it's never incremented again. The programming date is not changed at all when flashing our software, so there is no need to "roll" the date back. Restorations to stock have always been the exact stock version the car was equipped with prior to flashing our tune. The programming date always remains original. If you have any questions about our platform it would be appreciated that you ask instead of potentially posting information that is not accurate. We're happy to clarify and look forward to the progression of all tuning platforms out there!
For those that have done a bench unlock, does the flash counter freeze work from the bench unlock date, or a later date when changing a map that now has flash unlock capability. On flash back to stock, what are the differences after stock flash for bench unlock vs flash unlock? Is there any tamper code left either way?

Who told you that? Every tool ever made leaves some trace somewhere if not DME then some other ECU. They’ve always said that. I’m pretty sure tamper code stuff is never there when flashed back to stock and relocked as you end up flashing factory stuff back. I’ve never had a tamper code personally.

If you have active sound off coded does it mess with the burble? If so, how and where can i turn off the burble sounds? Not a big fan of it anyway.

If you go into the map configuration screen you can do whatever you like with burble including turning it off fully.

Are there any numbers for CA 91 gas? I didn't see anything about it on the official bm3 website.

Thank you and one more question, if i flash to stage 1 map for instance, do i need to flash back to stock if i want to flash to another tune (stage 2/cs/gts etc)or i can overwrite over the previous tuned map without an issue?

Got a new laptop and for whatever reason whatever I do I can't get the OBD agent to open.

Click it, opens up the load screen so to speak and hangs doesn't do anything just freezes. Tried several re-installs and ended up reverting back to older laptop. Even deleted from old one to re-test and it's fine. But new one simply won't open it even with virus protection etc all closed

I have a 2015 M4 and just bought Bootmod3 and went Stage 1 93oct. Huge difference!

My question is, I’ve seen quite a few folks lately running Stage 2 with a completely stock car and claiming the power is much greater, even with the stock downpipes.

Is there any big detriment to run Stage 2 with a stock car?

So here are my few observations after testing it out..

1) was disappointed in the lack of options. I for sure thought it would come with more features on website software
2) speaking of lack of features i didnt notice gts roar option or to adjust the burble sound or remove it even...didnt notice dp cell check if youre running nonstockdps (i think this might all be my mistake not seeing the config sign to the right i must had not noticed this initially)
3)flashed cs oem map car definitely feels faster and burbles (is the burbles even safe for turbos?
4)flash was smooth without charger but had to online recode it for fuel code after
5)burbles there but not on downshifts apparently?
6)after driving on stock car with ots cs map read the codes and threw out these two codes which i wasnt able to delete? Why is that?
7) in sport + you hear a fan blowing in the engine bay and only makes sounds in sport+ is this normal?
8)can they modify to revmatch in all modes successfully?

After researching it sounds like im sol with the 10011 code...so wondering is there some correlation between those who get it with those who miraculously dont doing the same procedure on (stock??/nonstock??) cars with the same firmware versions i would assume .

Any suggestions? I'm impressed so far but need to do more on it personally. Wish me luck
