Hmm... When I asked David A. how much it would cost to do Fire Orange on an E92 a few years ago he said the cost was about $4500.

I'm sure if you call BMW directly and ask they won't offer it for $2k.

If this is true, then BMW should start mixing up a batch of jerez black for me.

Fire Orange is not on their standard palette.
What is standard and where can you find them?

Their standard palettes are factory run colors like LSB or CB, IR. The odd colors like Fire Orange, they will charge $5K. I asked about Imperial Blue and he told me ~$2K. He told me you could get it painted whatever color you wanted and the price would vary between $2K and $5K.

Very cool. Thanks for the info. I'd love to see an IR and fire orange come to fruition.

If I had the money for the car I would definitely splurge for individual paint.

For some reason, the Yellow M4 just looks the business to me. I like it a lot!

I really wanted to like Sakhir orange (looks great on the build your own), but in too many pictures it looks too dull to me.
I have seen a SO m6 in person and it is exactly like the pic in this post. I didn't like the color in build your own but when I saw it in person, I was drooling.

The only Individual colors that are going to cost $2k are the 4 that BMW has already identified for the M3/4 - Moonstone, Pyrite, Azurite, Tanzanite. For true Individual colors (outside of the default M3/4 color palette and the 4 BMW-selected Individual choices) the cost is going to be the standard $4-5k

Not true. My contact told me specifically that if I wanted Imperial Blue it would be right around $2K. Words from the horses mouth.

Perhaps I am incorrect, however, how many times on this forum have you seen an instance of a "knowledgeable" dealership employee telling a customer something completely incorrect...

...Furthermore, what is the point of having an advertised "Priority 1 Individual" bucket of four colors if all the other BMW standard paint colors are available for the same price (e.g., Imperial, Imola, LSB, CB, etc.). That makes zero sense.

First of all, he was an upper level BMW employee that was driving a pre-production X4 to dealerships for preview. He was just some "knowledgeable dealership employee.

Second of all, I am just a messenger. I asked a question and he gave me an answer.

Take it with a grain of salt. If you don't believe me, I really don't give a shit.
