Hey, I haven't posted in while but I am looking to upgrade my 2016 F82 OEM downpipes and mid-pipes with a high flow setup. Back in 2016-2017, I had catless downpipes but I had to revert that back and never got back to putting my catless back on after doing the first emissions.

This time around, in order to avoid that. I am thinking about getting the Active Autowerkes Catted GESI downpipes so that I don't have to deal with emissions testing in Virginia.

I'm also thinking about upgrading my mid-pipes to either the AA High Flow Single or Equal Length. Leaning towards the Single.

Currently I have my MPE exhaust that I am very happy with.

As I understand, the stock MP has two secondary cats and a resonator. I shouldn't be expecting a CEL after swapping to AA MP?

Appreciate any experience/advice. Thanks!

You can touch/remove resonators with no problems.
Only thing that throws a code is when you touch the Downpipes.

If your tuned then that takes care of the CEL, if not tuned then Match schnell module or JB4 should solve it.

That's great to know. I already have a JB4 installed. I'm not too worried about that. Just wanted to make sure the car will pass emissions at the very least.

Do you think a resonator is needed or I'm good to go with non-res MP?

High flow catted + the single midpipe is an excellent option

i prefer the resonated midpipe for a cleaner sound, but either option would work

What difference will I be noticing with res and non-res?

I had a single mid, factory DP's and the MPE muffler and thought it sounded great.

I'd go with the midpipe alone and start there. Is there a reason you need to swap the factory dps other than sound?

Try the mid pipe on its own first. I think you will be happy with that alone.

Would you suggest I go with resonators in case I decide to upgrade the downpipes down the line?

That's up to you but you can always go with our resonated downpipes if you start with a single midpipe.

no. I would keep a catted downpipe and non res mid pipe. I honestly see no reason to go catless downpipes on oem turbos.

Gotcha. However, the downpipes I mentioned are the High Flow CATTED downpipes from AA.

Was looking into the GESI DPs before also. Ended up deciding to stay OEM but there was someone on here that had them fail on the E9X platform and blow his engine.

Tough pill to swallow especially with the costs involved. If you're flashed you won't have any issues with a cel which is the main reason to go with the more expensive Gesi cats. Stick with the factory downpipes or go with a higher flow option and get the power as well.

Thanks,

Currently I am running a JB4 Map 1. Will set it to Map2 with the GESI HF cats and single mid-pipes.

I'm also on the fence if I want to get the MHD with JB4 BEF but I'm not certain yet.

I ran stage 2 jb4 with stock downpipe for a while before going full e85 also stock downpipe. Other than the slight power loss I never ran into any issues.
