I could wait a year, buy out of state and/or get a horrible trade-in value OR pay $10k now and get the car. |

Indeed, while paying over MSRP could be considered foolish by some, it may in fact be exactly what the market has determined the transaction price should be at the time of the transaction. On the flip side, just because one oil sheik outlier is comfortable walking into a dealership and making 100s rain until the place is ten inches deep in them, doesn't mean the market won't bear less. For an average consumer, the typical approach is to find out what others have paid in the current supply/demand climate and then to assess what a fair price is. Sometimes that more than what you are willing to cough up, sometimes it isn't. The key is to not pay more than you have to, and understand that what's a good/bad deal today might not be a good/bad deal tomorrow. |

No matter what the market will set the correct price. Just look at the GTS pricing, they brought too many to the US and dealers got greedy. Dealers are paying the price for BMWNA poor planning. Porsche does not make enough GT3's to satisfy demand and it has cost Porsche Corporate $100M+ in lost profitability.
Safe to say that MSRP is irrelevant in any situation. It is at best an educated guess about what they can sell a car for, but is not some magical limit that means you got a bad deal if you pay over it. |

So ... for that money can u spec one with all black seats? I like the M4 CS seats but not the light colored inserts on the M3 CS. Take my money but give me better looking seats please.

Can someone help me understand the reason why the M3 CS makes sense vs a ZCP? I say this because the whole point of the M3 (and why I chose one) was because it's a more practical vehicle for daily use. Whereas the M4 is a bit more capable by virtue of how it's designed and thus more suitable for CS guise since it forgoes practicality for performance. I'm not writing this post to dig on the m3, more so to gain perspective as I'm thinking of opting into a slightly more hardcore m-car. The new m3 I have feels a bit soft.

Is the M4 really that much more capable a machine? A M3 CS vs M4 CS would be very close to one another and depending on the driver the M3 could be faster. If your M3 is soft, the M4 will be just soft since they use a majority of the same components. If you want hardcore, start modding on your your current vehicle (JB4, coilovers, etc). |

You know what, I thought there were compromises with the new CS in terms of accoutrements. Upon further reading, I see no such compromise. It's actually not a bad car. My only challenge is that it's so much more than a loaded M3 (ZCP, ZEC, individual color, etc).

Happened to me on the GTS. Thankfully, no one was parked next to me. Cup 2 tires for a daily? Not good either. |

Great value, must come with many standard features for that price point.
But I prefer BMW M4 CS

Despite this, I totally agree that the price is pretty steep at just MSRP (not even accounting for the likely market adjustment dealers will want). |

There is a greater performance leap going from CP to CS than there is from base to CP, even if there is less peak power gain. It is all about the area under the curve. The CS tune puts the F8X chassis on pretty much on par with the Giulia QV and C63S in acceleration.

Also, can't you simply add a CS tune to the CP and be done with it? |
