Just remember what I said about humor when this happens to me. Every time I gloat as I did in the other thread, it bites back big time. We will see about humor then.

They will smile and nod to appease you and then roll their eyes and say "fucking BMW owners, if you want a Toyota buy one. These cars are engineered to the limits of modern technology for the money. They're gonna' break." Or something like that. Oh and tell your GF you can't stay calm, and it's really making you crazy, but a blowjob would help. |

Yeah, IMO you gotta plan for these cars to got tits up. You don't want that to happen and you really really really hope it doesn't ... but if it does you just gotta roll with it.
Some dick keyed the shit out of my E93 in the SFO parking garage. (I told my wife not to park there but that's a different story) After the repair it was awesome to have my e93 back! |

I think the key for minimizing any future problems with this new engine is driving it very soft till break in and not even thinking about pushing it till eveything gets adjusted. (I'm not saying you did) Thats what I'm gonna do once I take delivery next month, Im gonna drive it a lil faster than a prius till my oil change ..Good luck tho and make sure you get something out of this.. bmw is usually good with this stuff

First year problems. Just like clockwork. I hope everyone buying these first set of cars goes in eyes wide open. Expect your cars to take longer than normal to diagnose and source the part because they will be learning as they go.
Just try to get a nice loaner. Realize you are doing all us LCI and used owners a service we really appreciate

Seeing how the transmissions and rear end are not new products. I don't think that problems with them should be attributed to first year model issues. If they don't know how to work on the rear end of an F8X, I guess means that no M5/M6s have had a rear end problem. That being said, this rear end must be pretty reliable. |

Furthermore, the 1st year talk is nonsense. First build (ie. few weeks) can be risky, but after that the rest of the 1st year will be fine save for anomalies that appear in every MY. |

I feel sorry for the fool that buys my used M4. Cosmetically it will still look good, but mechanically it will be used up. I'm glad there are people out there that believe they are getting a better deal buying used. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't be able to afford to buy new cars so often. |
