Thanks OP, I've been looking for a solution like this for awhile now, I live in Brooklyn, NY and haven't been pulled over yet but I know it's just a matter of time!

I installed this same sto option and am real happy. I went with the higher mount to no air flow was ever blocked. I added rubber weatherstipping to the backside just in case.

I love being able to remove it so quickly. I removed the supplied ring on the pull just because I did not like the glimmer of it and wanted to reduce the chance of it rattling.

Thanks OP for posting and pay no attention to the naysayers, welcome aboard and keep posting!

Nice M3 BTW.

I went with this mount as well, and will only use it for long drives out of state, where I've been with groups of others pulled over. I don't think it blocks that much more air than the stock mounting location, and certainly not enough to make a difference on the street, for my usage.

My front plate is in the binnacle in my boot, and I haven't had the need to show it, other than doing the drill-less mounting procedure.

I ordered the Skene about a week ago and then saw this on a different thread and decided this was the way to go since it can be easily removed. My only concern was that it may flex at higher speeds and rub so I crafted together some stand-offs with soft rubber tips to have the top screw points brace against the bumper. I have clearbra so I am not too concerned with the rubber scuffing since it is easy to polish off.

I did not realize they included 3M tape to mount so I also ordered 3M VHB automotive tape which I used instead of the tape supplied. That thing is rock solid without any drilling. It is perfect now. Great product!!

You could add some extensions to this to mount the euro plate or just drill some holes into the euro plate to mount to bracket as is.

I would add either aluminum or stainless steel extensions for stability if I were to mount it however. Would not be a hard mod.

Or even better, just get a euro adapter (goggle it, many options) which requires no modification to the plate at all and would mount easily to the sto-n-sho
plate.

Sto n Sho removable license plate mount

I just installed this on my '15 M4. I've been plateless for 2 1/2 years with no tickets, except the city of Portland has slapped me with an $85 ticket while parked! This solution is great because you can easily display the plate while parked then remove it. I had purchased a US Millworks tow hook holder when I got the car, but never installed it. This is much less expensive, looks better and easier to remove and reinstall. I found it $10 less expensive on eBay than directly from Big Mike's Performance Parts.

I used the high mount version (SNS 67). Installation was super simple; does require one small (1/8") hole at the top of the lower intake (unless you have great confidence in 3M automotive tape) that you will never see from normal angles if the unit is removed. Only thing I was not thrilled with is the backing plate does not support the full license plate, so I cut a piece of 1.5 mm carbon fiber sheet to back it up and pop riveted the whole thing together with a frame; very rigid.

Great job. Probably didn't need the screw if you aren't planning on running with it on. I've had mine on with 3M automotive tape for almost a year without issue. Like you, I only put it on for parking enforcement.

Thank you for solidifying my decision. I just would like to have the plate installed for whenever I park downtown.

I second this one. Don't really want to use my US millworks, but I also don't really like that tiny black piece visible in the bumper.

The black mount is pretty subtle - can't see it from high angle and blends with grille behind from straight on.

This is a great option. I have it on my F80. PDX sucks for LP tickets. Got a couple just driving my 02 Saleen. Had this been available then I would've had it.

Don't have any pics with plate mounted but will take some when weather clears a bit. For now here's mine with the mount block. Not too noticeable.

Here's a pic of the front of my car with the mount in front of the grille. Barely noticeable. You really have to get low to see it since it's in the recess.

My car's white so may be noticeable. Is there enough space to mount it behind the plastic grille?

I'm thinking this might be the best option though.

EDIT: For anyone looking for the Under bumper mount version, it is the 67a (67 is the stock location):

Even with a lighter color? I'm worried that AW will look crappy. Maybe I'll see if the dealership will paint it.

I have it on my AW F80 and it's virtually unnoticeable. One tip - remove the silver ring that goes around the pin. That silver stands out more than anything else. Even without the silver ring, it is super easy to pull the pin out to install or remove the plate. Besides, what color are you going to paint it? AW? That would totally stand out and look crappy as hell. The black totally blends in with the front bumper opening, especially on AW.

Also, I didn't bother using the supplied screw. The 3M tape is super strong and it's not going anywhere at all. Been through lots of heavy rains in Southern California recently. That plate mount is like a permanent fixture. I haven't heard of anybody having the plate mount fall off when they used only the tape.
