Btw OP, how much dsc off driving did you do in your f8x and did you still have the stock PSS? Dsc on plus power cutoff from stock tires was a Big downer for me.
Might have been my imagination but I thought the exhaust sound was worsened also when the traction control activated. |

I felt the same way. I absolutely LOVED my e92M. I was nevertheless looking to try the next thing with the F80, but came away very disappointed. I discovered I'm just not a turbo guy. the power doesn't give me the emotional experience that the sounds and feel of the NA motor did. thus, I sold my F80 and moved on.
I could easily see myself adding another M to the stable down the road, but it will be an E92 ZCP with no Nav (cleaner interior that will stand the test of time better). the F80 is an amazing car though - still sets the bar for its category, and it's astonishingly capable in every way. just didn't excite me for a weekend car the way the e92 did (but I admit it's not meant to be a weekend car, so it was my fault, not the car's fault). |

crazy how dated the e90 looks. I think the e92 has held up better.
love the proportions of the f80. Looks lower and wider...larger flares. Badass. |

Everyone is on the dot when it comes to steering between the two cars, the E90 communicates, while the F80 seems very artificial. Also, the when shifting in the E90 whether up or down, there is always a theatrical experience. In the F80, the only theatrics is when I build boost and let off, for a loud and still pleasing fart. IMHO the best F80 theatrics are spinning through all of the low gears with DSC off when launching the car, and doing a 60-100mph pull. I think the F generation is designed to have no theatrics when not pushed hard, and I can see how that would turn off owners looking for an "always on" weekend car

Why not both? E9X prices continue to fall.

So do I. But I would not trade my F82 for it though.

YUP, me too. I'm going back to a E92 or 997 C2S after the F82. This car is fun and amazing in so many ways, but I have lost the excitement of owning one, time to move back to NA engines. Just LOVE that high strung V8, simply soul stirring in a way the F82 can't equal unfortunately (at least not the civic M4 : ) lol.

I feel the same way about my old E46 M3 OP. I miss the smaller feel of the E46 with a high revving naturally aspirated engine.
If the E90 weren't so godawful ugly, I'd have grabbed one over the F80. Sorry, I know some of you own(ed) it, but the tail lights and rear end on that car are so bad I'd hate myself every time I saw it. The E92 is a thing of beauty though, sucks how Bangle ruined an entire generation of BMW's.

I didnt but I will my next one im looking for now. Im only downgrading cause I need to though. Life changes are forcing my hand. If it were not for that I would want to keep the F82 all day.

I'll probably get bashed for saying this but, I never liked the E92. Coming from an E46 it wasn't that much of an improvement (almost identical torque and E92 was heavier). Anyway, I owned E36, E46 and now F80 and I was so underwhelmed with the E92 that I bought a C63 and loved every minute of it. Let the torching begin...

One big thing is the E46 sounds almost as bad as an S55 but the E92 sounds good. |
