I did ask them last week, they said there is no official upgrade to iDrive 5 for my car, 2016 M4.

It would certainly require hardware change which I don't they would do. and even if they want to, they probably wouldn't know how to .

Hello,

I am also from Dubai but have just purchased an X1 xdrive 2.5i M from Abu Dhabi (much more options than in Dubai). Of course it does not have connected drive but apparently, there is the APPS option in the list... Car was manufactured in January 2017.

Have checked the map and it does not show the new canal bridge over SZR... does anyone know if any update exists for the map ?

What is APPS option?

Also, go to Maps > Settings > scroll down to the end and click on position and version.

The latest version right now for Middle East is 2017-2 so if you have anything older than that, then you can get an update through your dealership

Thank you. Will check when I receive the car next week.

I think APPS oprion (6NR) is the ability use certain partner apps through iDrive such as Tunein Radio, Spotify etc.
