Placed an order for a 2018 M3

Well, placed my order today for a 2018 M3 and to say I'm excited is an understatement. I have been in love with these cars since I was in high school. I finally have been presented with the opportunity to purchase one thanks to the Army moving me to Germany and taking advantage of a once in a lifetime deal on one. $58,000 out the door. Look forward to learning from y'all and enjoying this car. Now the wait begins.

Mineral Grey Metallic
Sakhir Orange/black full merino
Carbon Trim
20" Black 666M
Executive package
Performance Package
Double clutch auto
Apple car play

Congrats on ordering your new M3 - I have to ask - how do you get that build for $55k - the MSRP is $75k with those options?

I don't pay any taxes, I got $8k off MSRP, and of course put some money down. Basically whatever the build price is on BMWusa, take 10% off that MSRP price, no taxes, and my down payment and that's how I got it for $55k.

Thanks! Never would have been possible if it wasn't for the program I was able to take part in to include my orders to Germany.

Congrats! Are you doing a European Delivery?

I wish I would have taken advantage of military auto buying program and gotten an E46 M3 when I was stationed in over there...

I know. It hit me last night around 0200. I just woke up and was like, "fawk, April is 9 months away".

It's a sweet program. Makes broke enlisted member such as myself able to partake in the rich lifestyle, lol.

Congrats man! Always wanted to be stationed in Germany and buy a BMW there but only rotated there on the way to certain places or for training. However, I am doing ED now so at least I get to experience.

I’m sorry, but how does $75k MSRP minus 10% = $55k out the door. Out the door price would have been $68k minus your down payment. By your math, you must have put down around $13k down to get it to $55k. I’m just trying to make sense of how does a $75k car ends up costing $55k out the door with a 10% off.

I said plus my down payment. I just didn't disclose the amount. But yes, I put down $14k. Car was $78k.

I see, that makes more sense. $55k seemed like a great deal. Congrats on your purchase. That’s the color combo I had in mind at first, but went with Yas Marina with Sakhir Orange/Black full. Hoping to take delivery by end of August.

Tax free and $8k off MSRP is still decent. But I want it paid off in 4 years so I put a big down payment on it. Congratulations on yours!

I think 2018 lights look really nice. They have the adaptive head lights as standard. plus the comp package has a nice exhaust its better than a regular m4

I didn't get the competition package. I thought about it, and figured I didn't need it since I won't be tracking the car. Save myself some money. I really wanted the carbon ceramic brakes, but again, I couldn't justify spending $8000 on something I probably didn't need or would truly use. If I had the disposable cash I would have though.

Yeah but the rims that come with it and the exhaust is insane.

Experience pure high-performance and ultimate motorsport feel with the specially developed Competition Package. The enhanced dynamics deliver faster acceleration (-0.1s for 0-60 mph), which come from a horsepower increase of +19 to 444hp (vs. 425), more direct steering ratio, Adaptive M Suspension with new settings in all 3 modes, New DSC setting and New setting for Active M Differential. The package also features 20" Forged Light Alloy Wheels, high-gloss black elements including the kidney frame, side gill and rear designation, and black-chrome dual tailpipes for the Sport exhaust. For M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe, the interior features M Sport seats with break-through elements in the seat back and front seat belts with M Stripes.

No doubt it's nice, I just couldn't justify spending the cash on something I would probably never get full use out of.
