A hell of a lot in the UK.

This would sell more than 100 per year, your estimate is roughly one between two countries in the world per year. Alpina sell ten times that at the very least and they are minuscule and highly exclusive compared to ///M

I have to say this would be far more worthwhile than an X4... Shame those who want a near on impractical 4x4 out number us

This is actually a new BMW I would want to own!

How SUVs are more popular than something like this is something I will never understand.

Never a shortage of people hating the M3 touring idea (though the small minority in this particular thread), but there are at least two good reasons for such a car to exist:

http://m.mercedes-amg.com/c63e.php

And:

http://www.audi.co.uk/content/audi/n...rs4-avant.html

Of course neither of those are on sale in North America and neither would an M3 Touring likely to be either, unfortunately, even if it were elsewhere.

Make that three reasons. I forgot about this one. They even beat BMW to the punch with the baby blue color. . Unfortunately your power figure is 10% high, but it's still an applaudable effort by Volvo to bring both this and the standard V60 I6 models to the US. I just wish the Polestar version had been closer to the original sedan concept with 500hp. That would have really made it a special car and put Volvo back on the radar in terms of being a performance brand.

The only one in this vehicle class in the US, yes, but don't forget the E63 Estate. CTS-V wagon was another but recently departed.

Don't forget the Alpina B3, and for that matter, D3.

I meant in the US market. I work for a large dealer in the central region and we don't sell more than one wagon a month.

They did build an e46 M3 Wagon, one.

It can be found locked away in a BMW garage. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=509914

They have also built (and sold) M5 wagon's e39 and e60, but none of them made it to the US (legally). When I googled that to make sure I had it right, e34 popped up too, but I think those might be replica's/conversions. I am not sure.

I would put a deposit down on one immediately if they would build them (and bring them to the US). Unfortunately this will not happen, and I hate to say it, but I would bet we would see an M3GT before an M3 Touring. Which is really sad, I think BMW would have sold a lot more e91's and would sell a lot more f31's if they would send us n55 equipped cars. Both Audi and MB offer (and sell) nicely equipped wagons, I don't understand why BMW has given up on them. Instead of going the route of the GT (5GT and 3GT) which have both failed miserably (in my opinion), they should have focused on perfecting their 5er and 3er tourings. Both the F11 and the F31 are excellent looking cars, but they are not even offering the F11 in the US, and the F31's engine/transmission/drivetrain packaging (offered in the US) is a JOKE.

There is still a possibility of an F31 M Touring as there is an M4 Gran Coupe but we have to wait for that establishment period to determine if ones or both are applicable.

If there was to be an M Touring it would not be sold in North America.
They would rather sell an X3M or X4M.

I for one would have gone with the E91 vs. the E90 I bought had it been available with N55, RWD, manual, and a sunroof-delete option (too much weight in the wrong place + it reduces utility).

I recently had an X1 for a loaner car (which is basically just a tall E91). While it wasn't bad, I kept thinking how much better it would drive and look if it was a wagon instead.

I understand the SUV/SAV mania sweeping the country, as many want the look of a rugged SUV, but really want the utility of a wagon. The latter has a stigma associated with it in the USA as something your mom dropped you off at school with. Wagons don't bother me, as I like the combination of utility and good vehicle dynamics they offer.

Ah ok that makes sense

Cultures can change though... If I told you 15 years ago a jacked up coupe with a fairly pointless boot that let's be honest serves little purpose than to sit a little higher on the road would be a massive seller would any one have believed it?

Dogs + X4 = No

Dogs + M3 Touring = Yes with a big smile plus the ability to move house etc

Lets hope so, though I cannot see the point in the GC when the saloon/sedan looks so good, maybe that means the tourer might make it.

Biggest regret was getting an E90 instead of an E91, but the ED model was sedan only

As sad as it sounds I think the MPG of the M3 so it can be a DD will dictate how many sell in the UK especially, we are lovers of diseasels over here.

Look, you either "get" wagons or you don't. For those of us with kids / families / lots of gear, etc., it's a lot easier to understand the appeal.

Audi stopped selling S4 avants here which is sad but in this modern day of technology I never understood why they (BMW or audi) don't allow you to special order a M3 Touring or Rs4 Avant. They are already selling the coupes and sedans and base level wagons. Why not sell them for euro delivery exclusively? Then no dealer inventory and only make what the demand is.

As a past e90 335i and M3 owner as well as a e61 535i owner that did the m5 front end conversion I would much rather own a touring over the sedan or coupe. Besides being functional I personally love the look and find them way more unique.

And THAT is the reason this doesn't exist. All your delightfully informed and enlightened customers like pick up trucks and SUVs instead I assume?
