It seems like that paint can't stand heat.

Mishimoto is the way to go imho. I do have a spare set of silicone chargepipes if you want to go that way Brian.

I'm very happy with my ESS silicone pipes. I can't believe people put up with bubbling like this

That looks terrible. Have you reached out to the manufacturer?

They are MAD pipes. I'll send an email and see what happens. Probably didn't get tested on a car that sees the track.

Yah. Thing is most of these are all probably out of the same Chinese factory. If I get another set it'll probably just happen again. There doesn't appear to be anything wrong structurally but still.

Is there a PSI/boost rating for the ESS Silicone chargepipes? I remember reading somewhere that the Dinan CF Chargepipes were only rated for 24(?) psi

Don't think Dinan ever offered Charge Pipes, might be confusing them with Eventuri.

ESS uses 5 layer silicone which has a burst pressure of well over 100psi. Unfortunately, they are on hold as they've put all resources into other (more popular) makes/models. Hopefully, they'll start up production again soon as the only remaining alternatives are dwindling as the platform ages - meaning soon we'll have nothing left but the ali-copies.

Arm makes silicon charge pipes. Fit great without any trimming. Did get better clamps though.

I had them confused, thanks for clarification. Are there pros/cons for heat soak/performance of a silicone chargepipes vs metal vs carbon fiber?

Don't have any specific data on thermal conductivity of the different materials, but try touching a set of carbon (or even aluminum/stainless) charge pipes after a drive vs a set of silicone set - the silicone will always be much cooler to the touch. We've done numerous hours-long dyno sessions and can still work underneath the hood near silicone pipes without fear of getting burned.

It may or may not make a difference, it's really what exits out of the heat exchanger that counts.

Any of 3 work well, I've had aluminum ones for 4 years with 0 problems.
