Hey guys, didn't read the whole thread but does anybody know where that company has gone? They deleted all links and the HP is off as well. I sold my VSC-2 and was looking for the installation guide as i doesn't find my printed version anymore....

Thanks a lot!

I found the HP and obviously one can still order the VSC-2. I had issues with the old one that is fixed on the upside of the valve. Through the time the VSC-2 got deformed caused by heat. Meanwhile CG changed the location of that little black box and deleted all files and hints to the old version like installation guides etc. Finally i have to say that the VSC-2 worked great all time even with the deformation... Wrote to CG on FB and hope i get an answer...

I found the original link on the first page doesn't work but https://www.cgprecision.com works

Also, here's an installation video:

I think I would much rather use this as opposed to the OBD connectors. From what I understand the OBD connectors with Apps always revert back to stock, please chime in if you have a different experience with the APPS.
I will try and reach out to them and see fi I can get one shipped to my Houston office before I head back to Canada.

I picked this up because I use my OBD for my M Performance Drive Analyzer. I can't speak to the OBD+app but I can confirm this will default based on the option you buy. The most popular options are auto/open or open/auto but you can get it with "closed" in lieu of either open or auto though most folks wouldn't

The install was quick and easy for me (even with a lowered car). It comes out looking OEM. I went with auto/open but thinking about sending it in to be changed to open/auto since I practically only let the flaps work in the morning or late at night.

Mine has worked great. I just took it off after 6k miles and everything is perfect.

Before you ask why I took it off - I sold the car... and yes the VSC2 is for sale. in the classifieds.

Does activation require a press and hold of the home link buttons or just a quick press

Press and hold for like 1-2 seconds...I usually hold it until I hear the valves open or close.

Bimmerlink doesn't default back to stock. It keeps whatever setting you pick until you change it to something else manually.

http://bimmerlink.com/

That being said, it's extremely annoying to have to connect to a wifi obdII reader everytime you want to make a valve change so I just ordered one of these valve controllers for my M2.

Edit - I was wrong. bimmerlink defaults back to stock each time you shut the car off.

I never could get valve controller so I ordered the BT OBDII dongle and bimmerlink. Have been completely happy with it.

CG precision is definitely a solid choice for anyone looking for full control over their exhaust valves. The main difference between CG and any other ODBII device is that it connects to the factory valve acutuators and simply plugs into the OEM connections. Install is a breeze and really only takes about 15-20 minutes with basic tools. It frees up your OBD slot to other devices such as a boost gauge or BMW data analyzer for example. It will also work on any exhaust that reuses the factory exhaust valve actuators.

Another difference is that it will initiate the default setting immediately upon start up of the vehicle without a few seconds delay. Most other OBD valve units will default at the OEM auto function and the activated mode will trigger after a few seconds. This might not be noticeable to most, but for those like me who enjoys listening to the start up sequence and warm up idle it is crucial.

It comes with wirelsss remotes to trigger the exhaust valve modes. The best part is that it integrates with the homelink system and can be programmed to use two out of the three homelink buttons available on the rear view mirror. The system communicates with RF signals for a natural and OEM like functionality for those who might not want to use the wireless remotes.

Do they have a unit for Competition Package?

I ordered a VSC-2 and it came yesterday. Went to install, and the connectors on the 2016 M4 with Competition Package Exhaust are round instead of oval, so I can't hook it up. I am trying to reach CG, no luck yet but thought I'd ask the group.

is this true? i saw in multiple otherthreads , it reverts back or even during driving if your phone bluetooth connection to the obdii connection times out or app times out and closes it, it reverts back to stock setting
