I have a Koonlung K1S - Dual camera with separate recording box. The cameras are very small and discrete.
I say I have - I've just taken it out of my F30, and about to re-install it in my newly acquired F80 |

Recently got my F83 and looking at getting a dashcam. Wondering if anyone here has wired up a convertible rear camera? dr650gw seems to be recommended widely... trying to figure out the best way of installing the rear camera though.

Another blackvue user here. I found this post to be really useful:
http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1183385 I don't have a battery backup like Cell b. But currently considering it because the car battery doesn't last very long if you don't drive it every day with parking mode on and multisafer set to the most aggressive setting (without turning it off). The camera has already caught a few worthy events in the 6 months or so I've had it but I'm also a saddo who watches dash cams on YouTube now and again. |

It's got parking mode, but its not buffered. However, i don't really see the point of parking mode. If you want the device to protect the car whilst parked, then just wire it direct to the battery, or your battery protection device, and leave it recording.

When mine goes into parking mode all the shock sensors max out, if there is any knock on the car it captures it and marks it as an incident. Also allows you to have it only record when it detects motion rather than constant record

I have a Thinkware F750 in both of my cars, one has a rear camera too, the install was pretty easy just hiding cables in the door rubbers and interior trim, didn't bother hard wiring them, just plugged the adapter into the passenger footwell 12V socket.
The image is good enough but to be honest, its looking a bit sub par as newer cameras come out, bit rate could be better too, I'm looking to upgrade maybe to the newer version of the same camera 770 or 800. |
