I am seriously loving everything about the car. So the sound is different..., given everything else, I find I don't care one bit because I think it still sounds great and sound is just sound and am sure that regardless of the sound if the experience is anything like these videos you will quickly become condition to love the sound it makes while delivering that performance. Coming from a 335d I am addicted to torque and anything is going to be an improvement in the sound department :roll eyes:
Now if I can just settle on a color. I was going to play it safe with MW but YMB is really growing on me as is AY both of which will look great with a few CF trim pieces |

Look, a person can love the performance, or the sound. But, nothing can convince a person to ignore the negatives or faults. If anything, one can call it "character". It's funny, there is a vid of Ralph Gilles giving an over view of the Viper T/A, and he says that it has a "distinctive" exhaust note. People have always been disappointed with the exhaust sound because when you think of an 8 + liter engine, you think you are going to hear something that sounds like God gargling boulders, but you don't. This is not to take away from the performance of the Viper, or the looks...but the sound does let down the car---which I really like and wish to own. |

I am actually starting to really like the sound of the F80's exhaust in these videos. The MotoGP pace car videos actually have me extra excited because I know the car sounds even more epic with a catless midpipe. I LOVE the sound of my E92 with a muffler bypass but the only reason I haven't ditched my cats is because all the midpipes and test pipes soud really raspy and gross with my muffler and I'd rather keep my car sounding exactly the way it does than add 30-40 horsepower. |

I don't know how more people aren't disturbed my this. The only way this car will be any good is under some heavy modification. Pretty major downgrade for BMW. What's with the use of turbos on smaller engines on everything nowadays? This is dumb. I don't know about you guys, but I WANTED that V8 engine, and then add boost to it. Not this. I already had a full bolt on N54, I don't really see this being a whole lot different. If the new M3/M4 somehow becomes astronomical under modification then I'll pay more attention to it, but I'm already quite keen on this newschool industry-wide "turbo everything" scam. |

I dunno it kinda seems like it. This new M3 is just like all the other new stock turbo 6 cylinder cars - relies solely on the turbos & gotta make the car as light as humanly possible (money that used to be spent on bigger engine is now spent on weight reduction strategies) cause at the end of the day the 6 cylinder engine really ain't all that powerful. Been there done that before, V8 is better. It's a 4.0L V8 vs. twin turbo 3.0L i6, the two engines aren't even in the same category. Drop the turbos from the inline 6, you got nothing. Add the turbos to the V8, you got a freakshow.
