LED beam pattern question
So I'm re-installing my headlights after getting them back from ONEighty and am wondering about the LED beam pattern. I don't remember it being so rough looking. I did a quick search and I found this thread which seems to show some "condensed" areas of light that match kind of what I'm seeing:
View post on imgur.com View post on imgur.com It is much more pronounced than the pictures show. Does anyone else with the LEDs have this issue? Also, is the driver side supposed to be lower than the passenger side? Really just trying to find someone else with a M3 or M4 w/ LEDs pattern to match up to.

I'm installing myself and I should be able to adjust them to both be the same height but I wasn't sure if they were supposed to be. However, my main concern is the more condensed light areas as seen in the picture below. It's a little easier to see than in mine. Thanks but my question wasn't how to adjust but more what the stock LED pattern looks like so I have something to compare to.

Subscribed. While mine isn't as bad as OP's, I still feel the beams are still too close together, similar to the first photo posted.

Alex suggested using this guide for adjusting the lights. Going to give it a whirl tonight. Just need to find a parking deck to try this in.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the right should be a little higher than the left on LHD cars It's to help light street signs on the side of the road. I don't have a source but I remember reading that sinewhere a while ago.

My '18 M4 has the standard LED projector lens headlights. I do not have the optional LED adaptive reflector headlights that move from side to side.

My Adaptive LED headlights low-beam pattern: Light switch set to "Auto" low-beam with variable light distribution enabled and light switch set to "manual" low-beam.

Thanks man. That's pretty much how I remember mine being. So you do have 2 areas of condensed light for manual only? I know pictures don't always come out showing what it looks like in person.

Here in Aus with adaptive lighting I don't have a hot spot on drivers side above the cut off
When I'm in neutral or reverse it's there, as soon as I put it in drive it fades away Guess this has something to do with the adaptive feature in auto mode, which is strange as the lights don't go into full adaptive mode unless you press the button on the indicator stalk - will see if it stays on in manual on mode like you guys suggested above Also noticed in reverse the side lights illuminate the extreme sides of the car just as they do when you put corresponding indicator on - has anyone been able to code them on (in my old s3/rs3 you could turn these on via a foglight button on dash) |

I believe this has to do with the regional coding settings.... Alex @ Alpine coded my North American F80 from the two hot spots (like above, Adapative 1 I believe) to Adaptive 2 settings which completely eliminated the hot spot you're talking about. Food for thought!

i quite like the way the oe adaptive works so don't want to mess around with it - we don't have the disabled adaptive features here in Aus like you guys do |
