random scrapping noise, nothing under car

So today I noticed a "scrapping" noise, like a piece of tin was caught under my car. Only at slow speeds (under 20 mph) but completely random, turning either way and going straight but not all the time.

Several years ago I had a similar noise with my C63 and the dealership found out a rock was stuck in the brake pad! So I was thinking maybe that happened with my M3, but the sound happens when I am not braking...

Anyone else ever have this happen with no visible issue underneath the car? any idea what it might be without a trip to the dealership (in which they will probably "not hear anything"?

Thanks in advance

Common problem. Pull back the metal shield near the pads. A stone should fall out. You'll see it on the threads. Once pulled back it shouldn't happen again.
