You will be highly unlikely to wear through a set of pads and rotors to claim a free set on F8x cars. If you track, you will upgrade to aftermarket track pads. If you don't, OEM pads will last way past 50K miles.
CCB pads and rotors are explicitly excluded from the maintenance package.
Valve cleaning is not applicable for S55 engines.

Your prices are not realistic do you work for the dealer? It cost $199 for just a alignment. I'm not doing my own labor!!!!: You also forgot the labor charge they don't work for free. Your comments are silly get back to planet earth. Who's talking about Ecstuning I said "DEALERSHIP" at the very top of this page?.

The prices are as quoted, from the sources as sited.

A 10-year old can open the air filter box and replace filters. Or remove plastic cover and replace spark plugs.

If you can't, then sure, go buy a maintenance plan.
Make sure it covers tire inflation adjustment as well!

Oh yeah, I don't work for the dealer, nor do I like having them touch my car. Even under warranty.

Why did you need an alignment?
What's wrong with changing your own air filters, wiper inserts, and spark plugs?

Why are you taking this thread personal as if me buying maintenance plan bothers you? Asking me why I need alignment are you serious? If you don't want FREE maintenance then why are you commenting on a thread that's related to maintenance (MacGyver)? The whole thread discussion is more about the "Dealership" makes us pay $700 to transfer service plan not about a 10yr old being able to change a air filter, wipers, etc. The fact that the first owner already paid is the point your missing!

The OP asked: "any one else had to pay this ridiculous robbery?"

Others answered why (BMW got cheap, doesn't transfer maintenance plan to 2nd owner).
I concurred with OP's assessment: the $700 price point is a rip-off, and provided data to explain my position.

You seam to disagree, and are very defensive about your choice to pay up.
To each his own!

Yes.
You brought it up.
It's not part of prepaid maintenance, nor is it germane to this discussion.
If you think it proves something, please explain.

The maintenance is not free.
It's prepaid.

If I had a choice to opt-out and save $700 when buying the car new, I would have exercised that option. Because one can perform the rudimentary maintenance for 1/2 the price, and 1/2 the time it takes one to drive the car to the dealer and back.

OP has that choice. I believe he made a wise decision, supported by data.

If you can't, don't know how, or plain don't want to work on your car, that's another story.

How do you plan on changing my oil with "basic" tools? Do you know anything about my car or just assuming? My car is slammed on lowering springs so unless you have a garage lift good luck trying to change my oil. Don't say jack stands either, save that comment.

A set of race ramps will accommodate a lowered car. They are a few hundred bucks but last forever and great for any type of maintenance.

No need for stinky ramps. Couple $1200 oil changes will pay for a real lift

Easy w low profile jack..it's the drain bolt underneath and the oil filter at the top of the engine...easy-peasy. I'd spend more time driving across town to the Dealer than doing the actual oil change LOL

It takes half hour at most to change oil. It cost <$100 in parts. So, you save time by not going to dealer and save $100+. I'm also confident that it's done right.

Agreed... Can't believe so many people are too lazy and/or afraid of working on their cars.

Very strange I purchased my M3 from the original owner and still go in for my "free services" and they never say anything about it. I never had to pay any transfer fee.

No not lazy or afraid. This thread is not about doing the service. I posted it because the original owners pay this somewhere in the purchase price and then second owner has to pay transfer the services. It's not a debate thread or a DIY service I wanted to ask others on this semi new policy change.
