Current M3 discounts?
Anyone have any idea what discounts are to be had currently from the remaing stock of 2018 F80s still out there?
Since the new G80 is just around the corner I’d think the deals on 2018 F80s going into Memorial Day would be better than pervious years because they are phasing out to next years new G80 arrival. What percentage discounts should we expect to see from dealerships on current inventory? And as a follow up question, what kind of 1st depreciation hit can we expect on a 2018 F80 after the 2019 G80 comes out? Which is relative to my first question, thus expecting a bigger discount.

Discounts seem to be no different than they have been in the past, right around invoice. |

FYI, my two biggest local dealers, each has one M3 on the lot. They are the same cars, easy to remember when one is AW and the other BS in color; meaning either the demand drops to zero in my area or they are really holding on for higher selling price. I think it's the latter.
No question there are M3 on dealer lots, but is there any great deals out there? |

I mean honestly, you should start at around 1k over invoice and then currently there is a 3k if you finance with bmw and you can get some more fleet discounts and stuff.

I found a car on a lot I was interested in, but I already have an order going into production week 26. I called the dealership and talked to a salesman. Told him I had an order already with a competing dealer and that I'd cancel my order if he gave me this car for invoice price. He went and talked to the manager and told me he could do $500 over invoice for the car on the lot. I decided not to take it and kept my order, but that's how you negotiate.
Moral to the story: Have some leverage when you negotiate. |

I’ve found one a little over 9% so far, it’s the best I’ve seen. Was hoping for a little more off seeing I’m buying an F80 end of production cycle.

9% sounds like a good deal to me given the low supply and the fact that it has been confirmed that production ends for the regular M3 in June 2018.

This is the current inventory number (not comprehensive, some dealers don't show up here, but a good indicator nonetheless).
It's lower than it used to be, but there are still a lot of cars out there. You still have some leverage to negotiate, you just have to ask different dealers. Back in early March there were close to 325 cars and it has been going down progressively from there. In short, the stock has gone down. Bear in mind that the stock decrease has accelerated substantially in the last 30 days, so I would look for a car ASAP |

If you can find someone to give you one at invoice, get it NOW.
That was not the case in December or January in my markets. Now remember, there are lots of over speced M3s out there ($80K+) and those probably have been sitting around and people are willing to get rid of them. Oh and to be clear, I was getting invoice and below invoice in December - but that was after the $4-$5K in BMW cash - so not really invoice and - some of the dealers I talked to are well aware that there are no M3s scheduled for production after June so these cars are going to be harder and harder to find.

does anyone know what market/discounts were like during the e90 M3 being phased out while the e92 coupe M3 continued to be produced along side it? We’re there heavy discounts on both cars?

This is a good question, if anyone has any info, on the hit the E90 took the year the F80 came out? It can’t be just a normal depreciation cycle year. I’m guessing a substantial drop then a leveling off going forward. Thus might be the right time to buy a previous gen model in the used market.

The E90 was out of production long before the F80 came out. The E92 went out of production shortly before the F80 and F82 debut. The E90 m3 had very few discounts throughout its life cycle because it was extremely low production while the E92 had decent incentives up until the last 6 months before EOP....at that point there was a mad rush to get one of the last v8 M3's and BMW saw that and yanked incentives.

Then if the market changes in 2 years time (Alfa, Benz, Audi get into HP war), that 500hp on G80 Mx may not be barely enough and to keep up and stay safe, BMW may have to switch to AWD only (just like they did on M5 F90), if this rumor mills starts to take shape it may trigger mad rush on F8x M4 as well. Never know.
or even no more MT on G8X hard to predict what's going to happen. |
