Correct tire size for BBS FI-R?
I just got some 19" BBS FI-R and plan to get some mps4s tires.
wheels are 19 x 9.5 and 19 x 10.5. I'm thinking 265/35 and 295/35,. 295/30 seems to be the rear size that people are mentioning. Any advise so that the traction control doesn't have any issues? Thanks Last edited by notslow; 04-23-2023 at 01:32 PM.. |

My understanding (and I’m only going off what I’ve read…someone correct me if I’m wrong) is if you push the car harder, the wider rear may give more understeer. There’s more to it, but I understand it in my empty skull but yet not enough to explain better.

Tons of information that I'm overwhelmed. I was thinking 305 30, but isn't that smaller diameter than front? Not sure if that will affect ride as people say 35 to 30 is noticeable.
Is 265 35 19 and 285 35 19 the safer bet/closer to stock tire diameter? This is partially due to the 295 19 ps4s being narrower than the 285. Last edited by notslow; 04-25-2023 at 01:30 AM.. |

A lot of people run 265/35/19 + 305/30/19. They come out to roughly the same overall diameter -- with the 305 being maybe 1mm smaller in diameter. It's really negligible. On the FIRs the 305/30 will be pinched a bit and therefore will look like it fills up the wheel well more than the 265/35. I've run the 265/35/19 + 305/30/19 several times and have been happy with them -- albeit my wheel sizes were 19x9.5 and 19x11. The current Apex wheels I have are 19x9.5 and 19x10.5 (same sizes as the FIRs) and I'm running 265/35/19 and 295/35/19 RT660. The RT660 are beefy wide. Thanks for the info everyone. I decided to go conservative and get 265/35-19 and 285/35-19. That should keep the diameter and width ratios the same as the factory setup. I would have gone 295, but the ps4s that size is narrower than the 285.
Didn't want 30 aspect ratio, main reason I didn't get 20" wheels. Last edited by notslow; 04-27-2023 at 01:55 AM.. |

For what its worth, I ran 265/35 and 305/30 R888R's with spacers F+R and never had TCS issues.

I made sure mine didn’t rub even during full compression by adjusting those above factors.
